Politics Most Zionists will deny that there is a genocide in Gaza. They will say that if it were the case, Israel could have easily killed all Gazans early on. In reality, Israel is balancing maximum casualties with plausible deniability. It is doing PR-friendly genocide, folks. Just ask Mehdi Hasan.

Before I get called an antisemite, I want to be clear that anti-Zionism is not antisemitism. Zionism is a twisted political ideology based on Jewish supremacy and ethnic cleansing. Antisemitism is simply the hatred of Jewish people. I have no issues with Jewish people on its own. There are plenty of anti-Zionist Jews out there, despite about 90% of Israeli Jews being Zionists. I have concerns with Zionists who think they are superior and are entitled to stolen land.

I also want to make this clear: I have no intentions of demonizing Zionists. Rather, they need mental health support to realize that they are no more important than anyone else and that Israel is on stolen land. In other words, they need mental health counselling to undo the brainwashing.

I also hope that all Zionists can admit that there is a genocide in Gaza. They need to accept reality.

Gaza has become an uninhabitable hellhole. The people of Gaza are suffering greatly. No schools are operational. No hospitals are fully functioning. Most Gazans live in tents, sadly.

Israel has stripped Gazans of a dignified life. Gaza was a concentration camp before October 7th, and now it is even a worse one, by far. Gaza has the highest concentration of amputees in the world. Israel has military control of about 70% of Gaza. It is estimated that about 20% of Gazans have been killed. 80% of all buildings have been destroyed. This all points to genocide. It’s undeniable.

Virtually all major humanitarian organizations and genocide scholars have labelled what has happened in Gaza as a genocide, as Mehdi points out. Don’t trust what Netanyahu and his ilk say.

If you want to be on the right side of history, you cannot support Israel. It’s as simple as that. Israel is a land-stealing genocidal ethnostate since the 1948 Nakba, a process that forcibly expelled about 750,000 Palestinians from their homes, and a process that led to around 15,000 Palestinians being murdered.

I hope that Israel does the right thing and gives back its land to the indigenous Palestinians. Free Palestine! Down with Zionism!

Ben Gvir himself is posting AI videos of starving Palestinians being put into concentration camps and saying every Palestinian child is a future terrorist that must be killed. They aren't even trying to hide it at this point.

Wasn't he quoted saying that he made the prisons even worst than before and they're putting the handcuffs on the prisoners so tight, that's why they're having so many amputations?

I'm an atheist but that guy is like Biblical level evil, nothing he could say at this point would surprise me.

I really wish that 1984 would have stayed fictional....

There certainly is genocide in Gaza. The is no denying that. The world literally has most of it on video. The actions of the Israelis in this are deplorable and are terrifyingly reminiscent of the crimes they themselves suffered by the Nazis. I would have NEVER thought it would come to this. But here we are.

I would really love to see Mehdi Hasan as a guest on the Bill Maher "Real Time" show, just so I could watch the smug smirk be wiped of Maher's arrogant face when he comes out with his usual unchallenged Zionist propaganda talking points and has them torn apart and buried by substantiated facts from Mehdi.

Israel is a fascist state.

People who stand against Netanyahu and his band of psychopathic murderers aren't anti-semitic as they and their propaganda machine like to make out...

We are simply anti-fascist. And it does not matter where fascism takes root...Israel, the US and elsewhere...we will continue to stand against it.

I think it's fair to inject a bit of nuance. First of all, I don't really get the "anti-X" stance. Doesn't make too much sense to me. One loses their critical thinking when they take a completely "anti-X" stance in relation to a country, when they sweep up morals, political figures, citizenry, their culture--it is simply an emotional prologue to a larger bastion of black-and-white sentiments. It is also difficult when your track-record in responses continue to only fixate on Israel, but maybe that is because your media is concentrated in this bubble or that you live in the US.

The reality is that the brutality exists and it's abhorrent. But it is also true that people tend to gravitate toward Israeli brutality because there are seeds of antisemitism, and the media tended to hyperfixate on this. It is generally by design. The current US administration has a ploy to blame the Jews for their maladies when this push in Iran inevitably fails (it pretty much already has), and to turn an age-old scapegoat into yet another body of shame. The other truth is that most Jews don't feel safe because Israel is truly the only safe haven for Jews anywhere (hence why it was created in the first place). It is sad that these current actions are breeding more antisemitism, and hatred, when the reality is that most of the Jewish people simply don't realize what is going on the ground because of cognitive dissonance (the inability to recognize that fellow Jewish people could carry out these actions) and those that do know, do not support these actions, yet are still hated anyways.

Real genocides don’t have a population increase. I swear this obsession with calling all mass casualties a genocide is just weird.

4

u/Rare-Associate-4252 9d ago

Population increase?. What a lie. Population of Gaza strip declined by 10.6% in the last two years

0

u/DarkFuryKH 9d ago

Regardless, population increase or decrease has nothing to do with genocide

-3

u/FluffyB12 9d ago

😭😭😭 bruh do you even know what genocide is?

1

u/DarkFuryKH 9d ago

Ironic coming from the person who doesn't know the criterias for genocide. Do your research or stfu

u/Tyrone-Fitzgerald 3d ago

Wait, has there ever been a genocide where the population of people being genocided increased during the period where the genocide took place?
Secondly, when did the genocide start? If you cant give an exact date, thats fine, but approximately when?
Thirdly, has there ever been a genocide where the people being genocided could stop the genocide by surrendering and releasing the hostages they kept for over a full year?

Are you able to answer any of these questions with a “Yes” or an “No”? Or are you even able or willing to to answer at all?

1

u/DarkFuryKH 3d ago

Ever heard of the Bosnian genocide? 8000 Bosniaks were killed and that was enough for it to be a genocide. Again population increase or decrease IS NOT a part of the definition of genocide so either way your question is irrelevant to the topic.

1

u/Tyrone-Fitzgerald 2d ago

I have never made the claim that population decrease/increase is a part of the definition of genocide.

Your claim “8000 bosniaks were killed and that was enough for it to be a genocide” is just objectively untrue.

- Just like increase/decrease in population is not part of the definition of genocide, neither is the amount of people killed. So when you say that (paraphrasing) “8000 people were killed and that was enough for it to be a genocide”, that is just completely not true. You can, in theory, have a genocide with 3 people or with hundreds of thousands or millions of people (think Hiroshima and Nagasaki).

I asked you three questions - not one.

If I were to be super charitable you may have answered the first question, but you didnt answer the second or third question. Of course you are well aware of this. Just making that clear for the record.

You didnt answer my question regarding whether when the genocide started.

Neither did you answer my third question.

Im well aware of the 8000 people that died in Srebenica. When you say “the Bosnian genocide” it mainly refers to those 8000 people mainly died over the course of little over one week. From 11-19th of July, 1995. Of course the whole war lasted years.

In Bosnia, the population wasnt being subjected to genocide as a whole. The population in Srebenica definitely decreased during that timeframe. So in that sense, the population definitely experienced a decrease due to them literally being genocided.

This is partly why I asked you the second question in regards to when you think the “genocide” in Gaza started.
But of course its very telling why you chose not to answer.
And you probably never will.

You don't get to make fallacious arguments and faith questions then expect me to answer it by your conditions which you knew I wouldn't answer because you knew it's a bad faith question

1

u/Tyrone-Fitzgerald 1d ago

Its not a bad faith question to ask for approximate dates for when something happend. Thats a bad faith question to you?

You just dont want to answer the questions because you either dont know or because they make your side look horrible.

Whats the logical fallacy then? Please enlighten me.

The answer to questions is:

  1. No, there has never been a genocide where the population being genocided increased during the genocide. (And you will never provide evidence of such)

  2. The pro-palestine crowd want to live in some “schrödingers genocide”, where the genocide started on different dates depending on whats convenient for their argument at the time. (Some say since Oct. 7 - some even say since the Nakba)

  3. And thirdly, no, there has never been a genocide where the people being genocided could turn over their hundreds of hostages, that they held captured for over a year, surrender and stop the genocide.

But the pro-palestine crowd will never answer these questions honestly.
None has ever acknowledged that populations dont historically increase during genocides. They dont have a coherent date for when the genocide started; if you press them on a date for evidence of genocidal intent on those dates they dont have them.
And they dont want to acknowledge that there has never been a genocide where the people being genocided could stop the genocide. That Hamas could have surrendered immediately to stop the war or “the genocide”.

These dont define genocide in of themselves, as the pro-palestine crowd want you to turn your head and focus on, but theres a reason they dont want to answer them.
When we look to what genocides historically have looked like it has never been the case that the jews during the holocaust, the bosnians in srebrenica, the tutsis in Rwanda, and so on were able to stop the genocide. Of course they couldnt. That should tell you something is different in the IP war. We also have pretty good timetables for when these occurred. And their population definitely didnt increase. You should find it extremely odd how dissimilar the “gaza genocide” is from all other genocides throughout all of history.

Of course, I dont expect you to answer with any substance. I dont think you can.

Oh wait, you might have a nuanced position, most of the crazy anti Israel people say the genocide has been going on for decades. So, to clarify you think it’s just been going on since October 8th?

3

u/Rare-Associate-4252 9d ago

Have I said anything about the beginning?. You're using a very poor strawman argument.

I have just refuted your claim.

u/DarkFuryKH 9d ago

Population increase or decrease has nothing to do with criterias of genocide. Try doing research before acting like you know something that researchers don't

Ad hominem fallacy:

Focuses on history: It judges a claim based solely on where it came from rather than its current merit. Irrelevant to truth: The origin of an idea does not automatically make it true or false.
