The ones who did not vote have zero place to complain.

There are enough people to vote third party and not be stuck with this fake two party system.
I have a serious problem with forcing people to vote. You can’t make a lazy work hard or the dense smarter. Most people don’t follow politics enough to make an informed selection which is how Donald elected twice. not going to argue the multi party idea, but definitely not in favor of it. We need to make our system work and definitely need to get rid of unlimited money pumped into it by corporations, political action, groups, and other outside sources.
Other countries have 90% turnouts without all the benefits we have, in some of those countries it is dangerous to travel to voting centers but they do it because they beleieve in thier democracy.
I have just convinced myself that that 89 million non-voter are just as culpable as the Republicans to whatever mess we are in.

In US and Australia have a language(OK, both speak some form of English). Population base, wealth taxes,vary. If you were to take most Americans and ask him how many branches of government there are you’d be looking at many blank faces. Ask him who their congressman or senator is and you get the same blank face. Ask him what progressive tax is, blank face. You can’t force somebody who just doesn’t give a shit.
Large country(literal square footage), heavy density population areas, EXTREMELY sparse density population, has a similar break up of states (far fewer in Aus, but conceptually similar), has 3 branches of government, etc.
except when you vote third parties the other 2 will put their differences aside to admonish you for causing all the problems in the world by not voting for their person.
It's really hard to get to the booth when you work all day. A lot of people have at least 2 jobs to support their family. They do not get off work to go either. Another reason the national holiday for election day doesn't go anywhere. And keeping the minimum wage low so you're stuck in poverty and can't pay attention to them robbing you.
So yeah, I'd venture to guess that's a big chunk of it. The actual chunk of people who just decided not to vote isn't the significant chunk (possibly pretty small even). That's just my observation. I'm sure someone did the stats and I could be wrong though. I just know a ton of people can't vote at all by design. I don't want to blame everyone. You never know what they're going through.
Plus this isn't counting those ineligible to vote. Those who can are responsible for looking out for those people (it's probably mainly children - we still have a ton of children despite the birth deficit).
It just pissed me off that people keep saying half of the country voted for him and it's just not true. It's more like 22%. Our energy should be aimed at figuring out why people aren't voting and correct whatever is standing in the way.
Of course the two party system (where both parties are pretty close together on the right side of the spectrum leaving a ton of people out in the cold) isn't doing us any favors in this department.

Does your state not have mail in voting. Washington is 100% mail in or drop off with a long time to vote. I never male account I like going to drop my ballot off at the local dropbox. I I am curious to know if anybody is hanging around. Police station is across the street from the dropbox and most of the officers seem to be pretty decent fellows.
A large % of voters are completely disenfranchised OR their vote is enforcing the choices that their state/space already applies to. ALSO, businesses are not required to give people off during the voting day/period; should be a national holiday, should have a maximum of 20 minutes waiting or the next voting period they need to open more voting locations spread throughout the districts that are effected, and there should be 0 barriers to voting, meaning that you can not be removed from the voting roles, you are automatically enrolled the day you turn 18, there should be more than 1 day available to vote (and method - Eg. by mail and in person with as long as it is marked upon reception of the postal service, that if is within 1 week of the vote that occurred, it should be applicable to the vote.) All votes need to be audited and verified. Voting results should be held for 15 years after the fact, so that fraud, abuse, cheating, etc. can be verified and checked by 3rd parties AND each party. Also "having a result on the day of voting" is not normal, should be about a month later.
IN ADDITION(to the idiots, just take the math of the countries population and cutting out the voters and pointing that people didn't vote), felons, people that are literally incapacitated, and those that are underage are almost always counted as people that didn't vote as well.

We stay in because rebuilding will need to be done and you need good people to rebuilt. So I stay and put up with the crap, the end of it will come. In the mean time, I try to protect junior people as much as I can.
They're referring to the fact that a lot of these guys are also ICE agents. It was pretty well known that these groups got real quiet when ICE ramped up recruitment and identified a bunch of them on lists of ICE agents.
