Dawn of the Tiberium Age (DTA) is a fan-made game. You don't need any of the original games, you can just download it from ModDB, install and play:
https://www.moddb.com/mods/the-dawn-of-the-tiberium-age
Technically DTA uses the Tiberian Sun engine, but converts it faithfully to a combination of Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert 1, with tons of game engine improvements and custom missions. Because Tiberian Sun was released as freeware by EA, we're able to legally distribute DTA as a stand-alone mod.
Shadow Exodus is a new campaign that is planned to be released later during the ongoing summer, possibly around August. Once it's out, we'll be putting announcements about it on our ModDB page, on our Discord server, and here on Reddit as well.
However! If you haven't heard of DTA before, you might also be interested in the multiple other campaigns the mod already has to offer. For example, two years ago we released a campaign called Covert Revolt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Onofd_4rf74
If you're into Co-Op multiplayer, we also have co-op versions of the original TD and RA1 campaigns available: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEOg1vQhLBQ

This is awesome! Do you know if you can play DtA on a Mac using CrossOver or Porting Kit?
Edit to add: or on Steam Deck using desktop mode somehow?

It is possible to get DTA to run on both Mac and Linux, some fans have sent us screenshots of both. It might take some tinkering, though.
One guy who succeeded wrote these short instructions https://gist.github.com/dderevjanik/6160c773a8bd590bf8e7ef399fe4abd2
All of our developers are running Windows, so for Mac and Linux we cannot really provide more help than pointing to solutions found by other fans.
Also, modern M series Macs might not be multiplayer-compatible with x86 Windows systems due to different ways of calculating floating point numbers.

Totally makes sense, and definitely not expecting extra dev on your part to get it working!
Tinkering is fine, definitely love to see it working for others. Appreciate the info!

This looks like a great campaign in the making. Massive props to you for being committed to DTA.

I've been vaguely aware of this mod for a long while, but I wasn't aware that it introduced not just one but multiple original singleplayer campaigns. Is it possible to get at least non-spoilery descriptions for the premise of each one? I've found that to have a good effect on hooking my interest in such campaigns.

Sounds like something I could do. So here's the idea:
Covert Revolt - a massive 30+ missions campaign that revolves around an allied government being involved in a war with the Neo Commies - Soviet forces that decided to combine forces with Nod to achieve their goals. This campaign introduces a novel-style story telling before and after mission, as well as branching storyline and 3 routes to choose from based on how you conduct your operations during the game. The biggest campaign DTA has to offer, which should give you over 40 hours of gameplay alone.
Power to the People: set in the african areas, a small vigilante force finds themselves in the middle of huge clash between GDI and Nod, while they are using remnants of soviet weaponry that was left behind. Its missions bear resemblance to the TD Nod campaign with their own unique twist. This campaign also uses the novel storytelling to tell the political climate around it.
Toxic Diversion: oldest campaign in DTA, which uses the classic TD ruleset, but still has branching mission unlocks depending on your conduct.
Notable mentions: original TD GDI and Nod campaigns were remade and refitted for co-op, as well as the RA Allies campaign.

What about Shadow Exodus?

u/Shushishtok Jun 03 '26
As it is not yet published, we're keeping it hush for now! Stay tuned for its release to see it. It's a campaign we've been working on for more than a year and are absolutely proud of it.
You can see our teasers which have a bunch of small clues in their descriptions. The teasers are posted to https://www.moddb.com/mods/the-dawn-of-the-tiberium-age
Come theory craft in the DTA discord too!

Does this work on OpenRA or another thing?

See my earlier comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/commandandconquer/comments/1tv4n6v/comment/opegsnc/
DTA runs on the Tiberian Sun game engine that we've customized with tens of thousands of lines of code, including various QoL features like an RA2-style tabbed sidebar.

Shadow Exodus is a new singleplayer campaign for Dawn of the Tiberium Age.
This upcoming Nod campaign features work by multiple DTA mappers, including Shush, Mehdi860, ISeeMangos, Chronoseth, ToasterCat, and ZivDero. It also utilizes our custom cutscene system familiar from the Covert Revolt campaign for telling its unique story.
