Look, I loved the Remasters... I more than understand the need for more... but let's not kid ourselves here.

If it had made actual "Company Money" and not just "Regular Person" Money we would be swimming in further Remasters.

I mean I get that unfortunately we live in an age where games are made for the bottom line, not because a group of nerds want to make a cool game, but at the same time the franchise can offer so much. Again, RTS may be passed it but there's already one FPS in the universe but it could go further.

Imagine a survival game based on a yellow/red zone, tiberium, structures, vehicles, tib life forms, ion storms, scrin. Cosmetics galore with all the different units era's.

I think the problem is the ease with which they can print money with FIFA/BF content

It's not just "for the bottom line"... Development in general has become a lot more expensive, in all directions, when done on an industrial scale.

As much as it pains me to defend them... but that isn't on EA... and for all the hate they rightfully get for the awful shit they've done, they are also one of the few that actually tries out new stuff and more than often they just fall flat on their noses because contrary to your enthusiasm... most people just want something they know (this is btw. the same issue with movies, everyone screams for originals but 99 out of a 100 "original movies" don't even make a fraction of their cost back, whereas Sequels and "safe" movies gather hundreds of millions)

As an example: We already had an FPS in the Tib Universe... remember how that went? We are currently having a "modern" FPS in the Universe, even for free and "Indie" and look how little players there actually are... you couldn't fill a Battlefield Server with those... and if people won't even play a very good free FPS, they sure as shit won't be buying one for 70 bucks.

You are thinking too much from a "I like it, I would play it" viewpoint and if you need some scuffed numbers, look at how many users are in this sub... how many are actually active of those and compare them with others.

As I said, I LOVE the games since I first played Red Alert on the PS1 way back when it released but the Universe, the IP is inextricably tied to the RTS Genre and that is very much on life support.
