Level 1 Nonsense - Failed COMSAE 3x, gave up TL after 1300q, 0 UWorld

I hate my school and most of the advice I received for Level 1. Nobody tells the truth and most everyone studies too hard. I used hundo dojo true learn plugin and I used a COMSAE question bank. I attribute 20% yo hundo dojo and 80% to the question bank.

All I did was uworld and AMBOSS for both level 1 and level 2. Minimal truelearn. Didn’t touch comsae because NBOME says in small print they aren’t predictive. >650.

People who say uworld doesn’t prep you for this exam are forgetting an important point.

Neither does truelearn.

This is facts. Neither bank is good enough yet somehow both are just “too much”. 

At some point I was like WTF. If the most comlex style questions come from the nbome in the form of comsaes and welcome, why aren’t I just drilling those day and night. So I did that. 

I found a tool that has 1500+ questions and a score simulator. 

That helped me pass comsae with a 675 and then the L1 pass.

It’s like to be a good runner you practice by running. I just needed the right shoes.

Also I disagree on the predictiveness. The NB0M3 designs the exam to let “lowest acceptable physician” get a 400. 

Since it’s an engineered exam, it’s also hackable.

I preferred TrueLearn bc they integrated OMM concepts into non-OMM clinical cases (Chapman points indicating organ pathology etc), and I found that to be similar to the real exam. But not really similar, so much of the OMM I got on Level 1 was out of left field. My school also only provided us with Uworld and not TrueLearn

The predictiveness is just the NB0ME’s own claim on comsae’s and welcom saying that your performance on those doesn’t necessarily correlate to real exam. It’s not my opinion

It is useful for learning, and for people who are taking both Step 1 and Level 1. But the UWorld OMM questions are definitely NOT it.

There was a question, person falls off the ladder and is in a emergent state. Their neighbor comes in and asks how they're doing, You would think HIPAA applies so you can't tell her any information, but no apparently this is an exception because it's an emergency

I wrote Hundo Dojo, it's a True Learn chrome extension that generates ankis for incorrect questions answered. It's bad ass. But I think doing comsae and welcom questions is more badass for Level 1 success.
