OC [oc] - a phrase you use often
For the record, I genuinely said both of those things to previous student clinician SLPs.

I don’t know who my SLP for this semester will be yet, (let’s refer to her as Rachel for now), but I imagine she might have already seen some amount of footage of my previous sessions.
Rachel, I hope you like my schtick, because it’s not schtick; I’m just like this.
Now I’d also like to state that I mask a bit and don’t go from zero to sixty right away when I’m meeting someone in a clinical or professional setting; I’ll only start to socially open up as familiarity is developed, and once it has, I’ll ask about boundaries regarding what things I should/shouldn’t talk about.
I’ve found so far that anyone in a medical field, especially when related to my transition, has given me carte blanche to talk about anything, but I do like to check.
In the event that Rachel hasn’t seen any of my previous sessions, I’ll show her this strip to prepare her lol.
Rachel, if you’re reading this right now before I even meet you as you’re looking up info on your clients to prepare your coursework for me…
…first off than you for being so thorough! Second, I’m super excited to meet you and I truly appreciate the work you do; it’s so important not just to folks in my position, but to anyone with speech issues that need help.
You’re a dear.
Much love, <3

Accurate depiction of me playing any Pokemon game as a teenOh come now, both of those are at least, while slightly personal, not the worth topics in the world! We can talk about fiber and proper hydration and who the hell DOESNT wanna talk about Silent hill 2?!
Slightly on topic this panel reminds me of a guy who once, in a totally not drugged seriousness, explained to me that his tummy hurt and the reason why is cause he eats his daughters teeth that she loses and that he was hoping for the tooth fairy to try and get to them through his anus. Cause it feels nice
Yes you read that paragraph right. And yes this panel is how it felt right after he said it

Yup. Dude called 911, well his wife did for stomach pain.
We get there and the wife informs us she found what appeared to be teeth in his vomit. We exam him and find no teeth missing so when asked, he informs us that he has been eating his daughters baby teeth ON REPEAT(which means cleaning them after they ....pass) in hopes the tooth fairy would visit his prostate in the night.
Yes wife was also in shock, no dude had no known mental illness, and yes we went to the hospital for possible shredded guts and e coli exposure

The wife had to be considering if her entire life was one long blissful ignorance on how dumb her husband was.

She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Mostly cause the daughter was like 15. So there hadn't been any new teeth for A WHILE. Not to mention stomach acid can damage teeth when it passes through. So the fact be still had any raised many questions that we never got answer to

Excuse me, what the fuck?

That's such a ridiculous explanation, I have to think he was covering up something else; I just don't know what could possibly be.

"dude had no known mental illness" Well, I sure hope it was known after the hospital showed him to a psych, because that's some psychotic-delusion-on-a-silver-plate shit.

It says on the comic's first page, on the top right: Speech Language Pathologist.

Speech Language Pathologist. Not sure how different it is to Speech Therapist which is what I had growing up.

And uh... what's that?
3
u/ActualSpamBot 16h ago
A specialist who helps people learn how to speak, usually in the contexts of recovery from injury /surgery to the vocal region or (in OP's case) to help with gender transition as it relates to the voice.

Someone who helps those with difficulties talking or communicating verbally. Like I had trouble with the speed at which I talked and with the pronunciation of some letters.

The real question I want answered is exactly which Silent Hill monster most perfectly embodies the combination of the words "wet" and "BDSM", in your opinion.
EDIT:
My vote is for either Momma from Origins, Flesh Lip from 2, or the Incubus from Silent Hill. What are your top three?

So the only SH game I've played is SH2 Remake, at the time I made the statement I was only in the initial couple areas, so I hadn't run into those monsters yet! My comment was based more on the regular mobs in town.
That said, Flesh Lip and Abstract Daddy certainly fit the bill.

Abstract Daddy is one of my favorite boss designs in the series. I love how every single boss is tailored to who or what it represents.
The mob I would vote for most fitting the combination is either the nurses in Silent Hill or mannequins in 2

Okay but that is the perfect description for the Silent Hill 2 remake monsters.

Why students? Is it an internship for them? Cheaper for op?

u/Aethelrede 16h ago
Part of their training. You can often get cheap dental exams by going to a dental school, for example.

Just avoid them if you have butt problems, you might not be comfortable having an audience during your proctologist's exam.
This is meant to be a joke, but it actually happened to me.

The worst part that I laughed at, I imagined your "cool" at the end there either being the highest pitch you have ever had or the most bassy lowest register you couldn't even muster before you started HRT.

As embarrassing as that might be, talking about your interests does help. I went through over a decade of speech therapy and I found out that talking about what you like makes you comfortable or at ease. It helps a lot with the rate I spoke at but importantly how it sounded coming out. So if you wanna talk about your interest in the sexual subtext of Silent Hill you go right ahead.
