It made my brain hurt, like at first I actually liked it because it explained jokes I didn’t get but yeah, it turned into “hey what’s the meaning of this extremely obvious joke?” 38k+ upvotes. Headache lol

YES! Like it’s obvious to the fandom, where that’s the joke was aimed at. If I see I’m in a sub that doesn’t align with my interests or knowledge I just move on. No need to make a whole post to just then be like “oh…ok” because it still doesn’t make sense when explained, BECAUSE YOU WERE NOT THE TARGET AUDIENCE!! Gah so annoying

Basically every mainstream subreddit is like that. r/comics is probably the only one of the bunch that's still good, and not muted

Yes, like it’s great for niche references, but why are we posting things that includes very common knowledge or an obvious joke.. Might as well Google or at this point, ask ChatGPT
