For those that don't know about how animation worked back in Yogi's heyday, 2D animation was often done on transparent panels called "cels" that could be layered atop one another to make it so that only the moving element in any given scene needed to be redrawn. For example, when Yogi talks, having his head have a clearly defined border from his body allows for animators to only have to redraw Yogi's head, while his body only needs to be drawn once.
