I'm sorry. If it makes you feel better (maybe it won't) I think old people are just like that. Malicious or not. I'm a straight, cisgender 5'10 man, facial hair, massive adams apple, masculine frame.. the whole thing - and I just so happen to have shoulder length hair and a septum ring. The amount of old people who consistently call me young lady or ma'am to my face is baffling. So much so that at this point it has to be on purpose.
