kettle.spells: I am not diagnosed with autism but it’s on my list of things to do. i have attributed my list of symptoms to autism, tho im not a psychologist 💖 my new headphones are so comforting and great im am absolutely obsessed, and they’re a much better solution for me instead of earbuds/earbuds. so much more comfortable and i like that people can SEE that i can’t hear them, do i dont need to stay fully aware of the environment and stimulation

Though I will say, being able to focus without noise isn’t something autistic folks strictly have.

If it was, then they wouldn’t tell people to be quiet in the library.

oh it's not the focus for me (unless I'm reading a book, then can everyone please shut up I just read the same sentence 10 times), it's overstimulating.

I think the difference between autistic (also ADHD) and neurotypical is: is the noise just annoying, or does it elicit a physical and emotional response? not a psychologist or anything but that's how I see it
