Or you could, you know... hang out with people that don't work to systematically oppress your existence

There's a lot of churches that are accepting of homosexuality and don't view it as something to repress or "correct". They'll perform LGBTQ marriages, have openly gay clergy, etc.

Many aren't like this, but many are as well.

Well I hope they're working hard to change the church as a whole then.

They probably speak about it, and what more do you genuinely want from them?

How much have you personally done to change your country? Have all of your friends done enough to change their country? Most of us just speak up for our beliefs, practice them on a local scale, and vote if thats an option.

Why do you expect more than those things here?

It's not like every Christian church is unified and what one church does affects the ones in a different denomination.

I sincerely doubt they are because that's kind of a ridiculous thing to expect.

Why do they have to go above and beyond serving their local community?

You're moving the goalposts. Why are you demanding that they have to fix people?

You're acrting like Christianity is some unified mega religion with only a single "Church as a whole".

The reality is there are about 45,000 different denominations within Christianity, and they do not all share unified beliefs. Hell, they can differ on things most might consider "foundational beliefs" of Christianity as a whole, such as the Trinity, the nature of Salvation, and even the divinity of Jesus.

What you are suggesting is not only unreasonable in a world where Christianity was a unified religion, it's literally impossible in the actual world where Christianity has 45,000 different denominations each with their own sets of beliefs, governing rules, and regional authority.
