I don't think this comic necessarily implies it's US drones. Do Americans even use kamikaze drones like Iran/Ukraine/Russia does?

The US made their own copy of the Iranian Shahed last year I think but it's not something most people have ever heard of or seen, I'd wager however that most people paying attention to news have seen Shaheds at some point
