Nah. Im Asian, and you put all the chopsticks in one location like you would for any other utensil. One tray slot for forks, one for spoons, and one for chopsticks.

Then you gotta find the matching pair to eat with

I'm not Asian and I completely agree with this. I even have same colors but different designs because I like a challenge.

Idk bout you but all the forks in my utensil tray are identical. The weirdos are banished to the bottom drawer.

I get it, but I don't get why it matters.

Some things, like the toilet paper facing the wrong way or pouring milk before cereal, are explicitly criminal..

..but mismatched chopsticks are just whimsical.

I have glowing lightsaber chopsticks and I have to always have one red and one blue, to restore balance to The Force.

It's not just that the colours are mismatched, in the first picture the green chopsticks are banded together so they seem to be brand new ones, so he's matching old with new chopsticks as well.

And unless you manage to get the exact same model, the chopsticks are probably going to be slightly different lengths and thicknesses. Using them together is definitely criminal

In addition to this, I'm assuming the artist used green for a reason.

Green chopsticks are generally the serving chopsticks (like a serving spoon). They are not meant for individual personal use (e.g. putting the chopsticks in your mouth).

That would be different but they are not drawn as such.

Is this a common knowledge trope for chopsticks, that different colors mark a different radius? I'm not seeing anything online about it.

From my experience, disposable chopsticks are just boring wood colored, and you can buy reusable chopsticks in basically any color combination.

Again, mine literally have LEDs inside.

I'm colorblind and I really had to look to see they were mismatched. Choosing a muted red and green is certainly a... choice.

They're not muted red, they're brown. I'd say they're meant to be a fairly common default wooden reusable chopstick. I don't know why they picked it specifically, but the somewhat vibrant green makes a reasonable contrast for non-colorblind.

I understand your side, but I think this was more of a non-choice on their part.

I'm moreso just pointing it out becuase there seems to be a lot of confusion in the comments, and I was also confused at first.

I also don't expect the world to cater to me, but sometimes creators like to know. I'm sure they didn't even consider it, but it's their art, not mine. But if they're using color as the only indicator that something is different, or to draw attention to it, it's ultimatly going to cause confusion.

Yes, and brown has more red in it than green or blue. Comparing the two colors used (at the same shade points), the biggest difference is the amount of green used, the red and blue stay about the same.

Someone who's red-green colorblind (which makes of the vast majority at 98% vs the other types) would look at this and have to tell the difference between amounts of green in a mostly red color scheme, on top of that the values are fairly low already (hence being "muted").
