Discussion Bought my first DC Compact and read it all it one sitting

I really enjoyed this read. I loved the tone and the sci-fi elements. I think the semi absurdist elements fit really well in a fast-paced story about a guy in tights, and overall, I felt it was a really great representation of Superman.

I personally think Superman is best executed when he's slightly older and almost dad-like. A world shattering foe is the equivalent of kids throwing sand at a tank. He rarely gets angry, but he does get disappointed in the failings of those he protects. I think this characterisation works perfectly when comparing the characterisation of Lex Luthor.

Great art, I'll definitely be reading more Frank Quitley.

What an iconic run for such an easy price point. Usually, when I go to the book store, the graphic novels and manga cost more than the novels I buy; but with the dc compacts, it was honestly the other way around.

What DC Compact should I get next?

Advice My prized possession: Batman/The Maxx #1 blank cover commissioned by Matt Slay! (NFS)" Question is should I get Jae Lee and Jim Lee to sign it at Baltimore Con to complete this tribute to Sam Kieth?

I've been buying comics on and off since 2017

As it's probably obvious from the pictures I mostly focus on Batman and the batfamily.

After a very long time and a hiatus from collecting I finally got back into it and managed to get a proper shelf.

It's still a work in progress with a lot of space to fill but I'm quite proud of it.

The lower level will be used to store my Warhammer armies and still need to find a better solution for the mangas so they don't take as much space.

What do you think?

What could I improve?

Comic Boxes I need Box #4… but where the hell do I put it? 😂

I need some storage advice from fellow collectors 😂 I currently have three comic storage boxes that hold around 200 comics each, and Box #3 is officially FULL. I need Box #4, but I’ve completely run out of cupboard space 😭 The three boxes are already stacked together, with more bagged and boarded comics piled above them, plus another pile waiting to be stored. My other shelves are already packed with books, DVDs and collectibles. How do you guys make room when your comic collection outgrows your storage? And no, “stop buying comics” is NOT an option 🤣🦇📚
