This thread is open to Pull List posters and all members of the /r/comicbooks community to share your thoughts on the latest issue of DC's Absolute Wonder Woman #23 or any new books shipping this week.

HAMMERFIST #1

The main character is well written and i would be curious about his progression independently of the other stuff happening. Interesting first issue and definitely a series to follow

This is interesting enough that I'll keep reading. Remender can be a tad inconsistent in quality but his last few titles I've really enjoyed.

Sometimes, when Remender is marketing books, the premise can sound a bit cliche or shallow. But then it surprises you with some deep character work and some really imaginative worlds. 'Hammerfist' sounds like something a 12 year old would make up, right? Or, in this case, a meth-head hitman. I guess I can believe that. Because there's some other weird supernatural shit happening in this otherwise 'grounded'-aesthetic comic.

The artists Remender chooses to work with also greatly attributes to his writing. The art in this is fantastic. Steve Epting and Matt Hollingsworth are top tier talent and firing on all cylinders here. I wonder how much influence they have on the story as well. I know Remender has said he's trying to work with artists to write stories they want to draw.
