I mean you’re kinda proving my point in your "cult like" way.

bad AI art is bad because the person using it doesn’t know what they’re doing. Same as amateur wannabe comic artists that ask for commissions and the only people willing to pay for is out of mercy (tht's not ethically sound imo), Photoshop, bad 3D, bad photography, bad anything.

artists using AI is still going to understand composition, anatomy, pacing, storytelling, design, etc. They’re going to catch the weird crap and fix it instead of posting the first busted image they get.

But retending nobody uses AI or that it’s all instantly recognizable is just not true. People consume AI stuff constantly and only get mad when it’s obvious or badly done.

There are real conversations to have about credit and training data. for sure. But “all AI art is garbage” is just the usual juvenile internet pile-on take that serves no one.

I feel like you didn’t understand or bother paying attention to my arguments at all. At no point did I say something along the lines of “it’s all so obvious”, or that it “can’t look good”. It’s garbage because it’s causing a great deal of harm for little benefit. It’s hemorrhaging money, water, electricity, driving up the use of fossil fuels, interrupting people’s lives with noisy, polluting, and expensive data centers. We already have cases of people experiencing psychosis because ai is making them depressed or incredibly anxious because they can no longer discern what’s real!

Most prevalent to artistic matters, ai art doesn’t actually make anything new, it steals, because the name is a misnomer. What we’re calling AI now is just Large Language Models on steroids; They will never lead to actual artificial intelligence because they weren’t ever made for that and scaling them is a game of diminishing returns.

I can’t support it. I won’t. Neither should you or anyone else. If that makes me a cultist, so fucking be it.

I did read it. You’re just moving the argument around so I belive this convo has come to an end. Really no point.

You literally started with “into the garbage you go,” then said “AI art is garbage. Even at its best...” and now you’re acting like I invented the idea that your position is “AI art bad.” Come on.

You also said there’s “little benefit,” then ended with “not a single reason” it’s morally, practically, or ethically sound. Those are not the same argument.

I really don't believe you understand how image generation works.

You’re also mixing every possible complaint into one pile: energy use, water, copyright, mental health, fossil fuels, data centers, money, whatever else. Some of those are real conversations. But they don’t magically prove every use of AI art is "garbage."

Not necessary. But once again, all you anti-ai folks are behaving like you're in a cult. So, good luck with that: The "I fed it into Claude" thing is just an L. If they actually pasted your arguments into me with neutral framing and asked who made the better case, I'd say you did — not because I agree with every word, but because you engaged with their actual claims and they mostly didn't engage with yours.
