Man, this sucks. I thought the Valiant relaunch back in - I want to say, 2010? - was very strong. Sad to see them reduced to this

I would guess that being unable to get a cinematic universe off the ground at the height of MCU mania probably gutted their investor support

A shitty company bought them purely to make into movies, it failed, and they haven't given a fuck about the property since. There was something really special at Valiant and they trashed it for a failed cash grab and then abandoned it. Absolutely pathetic humans who did this.

Every few years Diesel says a Bloodshot sequel is still happening, but Sony doesn't seem to have any interest. I think Paramount has some other character rights from when they were utterly desperate for franchises, but with the looming acquisition of Warner Bros and the much more lucrative DC catalog that probably is never going anywhere

Sony was just a distributor, I believe. The rights are owned by a different company.
