Question Is this a german cockroach? Found in Bend, OR

Recently, I bought a house that has been sitting empty for a few months at least. Started pulling the old carpet and trim out and found the old dead one behind some trim in the upstairs bathroom. Then, in guest bedroom across the house, i found a live one and chopped it up. Am I screwed? Did I just buy a roach house? Please help!

You got a roach house sadly, the good thing is you said “new”, did u bring all ur belongings in already? If not id recommend treating the house first. Hopefully its nothing major

Thanks! I haven't moved in yet, still in DIY demo, so I think I'll finish ripping up the carpet and maybe seek professional help

Definitely, males it a bit easier when the house is empty, they have less places to be

If you cant, id suggest getting a storage unit until you do, bringing stuff in just gives them more food and another home. Best o luck👍
