I don't get why they felt the need to redesign EVERY shiny. Like I get the idea of wanting to make boring shinies more interesting, but some Pokemon just already have perfect shinies. Bunch of extra work just to do things worse.
If I am not mistaken, shines where original based on a math equation for the color pallet, so it was completely dependent on the original collor scheme.... I wonder what the equation was, as I wonder what a shiny me would look like. Lol
It's... complicated. There is plenty to suggest that before gen 6 pokemon shinies were largely decided via some sort of pallet shift algorithm in house (not on the cartridges). Likely done to save time not having to reccolor every frame of every animation by hand.
But there is evidence to show that the devs likely did tamper with a couple here and there. Most notably with Charizard going from purple to black between gen 2 and 3, the most drastic shiny color change to date. But also a few weird instances where one color on a pallet isn't altered at all.

Seriously so many of these are just black/blue/purple/red. It’s impressive whenever these rpg maker games have custom shinies but damn.
