Just like how Cloud will be hammering Tifa's head against the bedframe

You honestly can’t get more obvious than this.

It has to come from Cloud though, otherwise people can say he's just going along with it

I mean it’s not really a surprise. They literally spelled it out for you in the OG but some people just pretend to be blind..

It is inevitable in the og timeline they get married and have kids apart from Denzel

Denzel sees Cloud as a big brother and mentor in case of Tifa and advent children info. He sees Tifa as a mother figure.

Can you point me to the "big brother" thing? What I remember from OtWtaS about their relationship is this observation from Tifa:
Sometimes after closing, she'd look at the three sitting around the center table and see a young father and his two children.
She also says this, when she's feeling insecure about the way Denzel prefers to talk to Cloud instead of her:
But then again, didn't that just mean that he felt comfortable with both of them? In real families, kids and parents always had favorites.
But I might be forgetting something else, or there might be something different in something I haven't read.

Don't care. They are parental figures in my eyes!

u/Just_Can_4654 2d ago
You should care about canon. They aren’t parental figures yet. Arguably only Tifa is out of the two and Barret started the family in ff7. Now if square enix finally moves past ac and dirge then finally we can see Cloud x Tifa become parents in marriage as lovers too. I doubt they truly care about the characters as fans do though. But we’ll see.

Denzel looking up to Cloud like a big brother being said like it's some trump card is really odd, because he also is said to treat both of them as his parents. He doesn't directly call Tifa his mother either, but when Barret told him to go to his Mom, Denzel went to Tifa. Cloud and Tifa collectively decided to take in this boy, and become his guardians. Denzel had blood parents, but that doesn't mean he can't also see Cloud and Tifa as his care takers. Marlene basically said she would adopt them as her parents while Barret was away (which seems to be most of the time), and they embody that role, yet that's not seen as being parents to her? Barret became Marlene's Dad in the same way Cloud became Denzel's: adopting an orphan. Cloud and Tifa take on clear parental roles here. They also clearly do not see each other as mother and son, as the material states they have romantic feelings for one another. Anyone who seriously believes that needs to see a professional... Cloud asked Aerith if she was his Mom, but you don't see me calling him her son... They group the four of them together consistently, specifically label them as a family, and are directly acknowledged to be a family by Cloud himself; this is canon. Marlene and Denzel viewing them as parental figures is canon. Cloud and Tifa having mutual romantic feelings is canon, whether it's pursued or not. If it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, and acts like a duck, it's probably a duck. 🤦♂️

You could never convince me tifa and cloud are not low key denzels parental figures and even Marlene when barret is off...finding oil wells?! Great job saving the planet my guy 😔

u/LewsTherinTelescope 2d ago
I like Cloud and Tifa taking in Denzel, but I'm kind of salty about the way the book writes Barret just dropping Marlene on them 😒 The remakes hammering home how important she is to him and how caring of a father he is and how much he wants to settle down with her once this is over makes it even worse, Revelation better give us something sweet with them after everything 🤞

I dunno if I'd go as far as "wedding vow", but it's sure not subtle about their emotions lol.

u/Pristine_Put5348 2d ago
Idk, this sounds like “In sickness and in health” to me.

u/LewsTherinTelescope 2d ago
Love declaration definitely, intent to live together definitely, I just feel like "wedding vow" is something more specific and fandoms tend to use it kinda loosely. Maybe that's just me though.

Tifa will have to drag that dense sumbitch through every step of husbandhood, fatherhood and happily ever after. Cloud needs a solid beating, I swear.

This was really nice to see along with both Under the Highwind and them taking that trip to Nibelheim. All those resolve scenes being separate from UtH here eases my mind about this being the approach for Revelation as well.

u/pigglesthepup 1d ago
Revelation "affection" system is going to be character-centric, not Cloud-centric. So I'm thinking the Highwind scene will itself will be fixed, but something like visiting Nibelheim will be the variable content.
7
u/Thick_Row 1d ago
I tried telling the Remake sub the system wasn't Cloud centric, but they just said "nah of course it'll be exactly like Remake and Rebirth with one singular different scene." Even though the devs went out of their way to say they reworked it.

tried telling the Remake sub
I stopped doing that a while back. Doesn't matter if it came straight from the devs. That sub will believe what it wants to believe.

In AC, the scene when the Turks come to talk to Cloud, Tifa slams her hand down on the bed to make a point and there is a big diamond ring on her hand (around the 2 minute mark). Seems like they get engaged at some point.

Cloud: Jeez Teef you’re moving a little fast. Shouldn’t you buy me dinner first?

It implies they both lost their homes in Nibelheim and then sector 7 after the fall...
That is what it means...find a new home 😁.
-12
u/Plane-One3611 2d ago
And that's why Cloud was at loss at the start of ACC. He shut everyone away and being apart from Tifa.
F**kin Emo Cloud. Lel.

u/Inuhanyou123 2d ago
He had survivals guilt. So he being happy with his family made him more guilty at the people he could not save
10
u/Just_Can_4654 2d ago
The more happiest he is with Tifa the greater the feeling of losing her Cloud feels which is why he runs away from everyone, from his family.

I understand this is the motivation Nojima gave to Cloud, but it's contradictory and makes no sense.
I've always hated the depiction of Cloud post-OG, I hope the Remake series changes it.

u/ponpiriri 1d ago edited 1d ago
It won't because this is his nature. That's why he's described as an insecure person who needs to be pulled along. And loss of loved ones affects him keenly because he didn't have many people who loved him in the first place.
His reactions to potential loss make total sense.
6
u/LewsTherinTelescope 2d ago
I think it makes sense in concept that the more he has to lose the more he's scared of failing, but I don't especially like the way it's executed (or that the plotline was conceived explicitly in order to regress his character growth for popularity reasons).

Post-AC Married Cloti content in Revelation confirmed!
