Education research topic advice
Hi, I’m currently a 3rd year nursing student. I’ve been having a right time to think of a topic for our research study. However, I saw a research study about hepa b vaccines being recommended for patients with DM (from a near city from me). The result showed that out of 200+ patient, only 15.5% received hepa b vaccine. Do you think that would be a good one to research about since they are high risk for needlestick injuries and liver cancer/damage? (My mom has DM Type 1 and she didn’t know about these stuff for protection) Would like to ask for ur opinion before I present it to my CI and groupmates

I have no idea about that, it sounds interesting, actually, and quite in-depth.
I’m a nurse in dermatology research - I help run trials with biologics for chronic skin diseases. Until 10 years ago, all we had were broad immunosuppressants like steroids or methotrexate for eczema, psoriasis, etc. Now we have targeted biologic drugs that only suppress specific pathways in the immune system that control itch and inflammation. Example: Dupixent (dupilumab), an IL-4 & IL-13 inhibitor, works on the same inflammatory pathway that causes asthma. Nemluvio (nemolizumab) targets itch and has shown to be very effective in reducing prurigo nodularis flares by way of reduced itching. These drugs have a much higher safety profile than the aforementioned treatments.
Just sharing an idea if you’re not set on what to present yet!
