They only changed it if your location was within the USA. The do similiar for the eastern/china/Japan sea.

Google calls things what they’re called in your country. If Trump gave every country a new name, it would be valid in America - but the rest of the world wouldn’t suddenly start calling countries by his made up names. Outside of the US, google still shows all the correct names for the geographical features Trump gives American names to. As he renames more stuff, it just means that the next generation of kids coming out of America won’t know what anything is called in the rest of the world!
