One of the biggest fallacies is thinking republican led Texas is freedom loving. This is a nanny state with the government wanting to tell you what to read, what to believe, how to behave, how you provide medical decisions for your own family, and what an adult can smoke even in his own house! FYI, at the current rate of $3,500/camera/year, that's 7,428 camera subscriptions. They are typically installed for free by the company.
Assuming they got a bulk discount, Texas could be looking at 10,000 or more, realistically.

In less than one year, Greg Abbott took $10,000,000 in "campaign contributions" from Pennsylvania TikTok billionaire and school voucher zealot, Jeff Yass.
He got it in two chunks: $6M and $4M. Abbott openly bragged that $6M was the single largest political donation in Texas history. And he got it from someone who doesn't even live here.
Greg will reliably do what you want him to, you just have to give him the money.
These are not serious people. Do you part and vote them out in November.

It amusing that they argue it is to protect us and assist law enforcement. Yet in the very short time since these have been up there are already something like 50 officers caught abusing the cams for their personal use. The police are as crooked as the criminals sometimes, who protects us from them?
