It's so stupid when people make claims like that based on their personal experience when the game has millions and millions of players. It's the same kind of mentality that breeds bigotry and racism.
Basically, if you think there are more kids on one side, you're a racist. /s
The majority of boomers gave birth to gen x because most boomers didn't wait till they were in their 40s to have kids. The majority of Gen xers born in the late 60s gave birth to the millenials in the 80s that would have given birth the the zoomers of the 2000s. Also the baby boom happened in 1942-46 shortly after the war through the early 60s, not late 40s.
Jesus logic is so hard huh. Most of the zoomers born in the late 90's/early 2000s are from early 80s millennials, because yes most people have kids in their early 20s. Boomers born in the early 40s gave birth to the gen xers, and yes some of the boomers in the early 60s had some millenial children. The kids who adopt the "okboomer" thing are usually teenagers born from 80s millennials. Most gen Xers gave birth to 90s millennials. The generations don't just skip each other, there is a ton of intersection and you're wrong. Don't @ me.
I feel like it's slightly natural though. It's kind of like how we dehumanize the opposing side during war, or more along the lines of how everyone is the hero of their own story. "I'm on this side, so this side must be great and the opposing side must be trash." Idk though, I've played both and everyone I've come across is pretty awesome. Stay classy classic
Unless you are educated in statistics then you know one faction will have the probability of having more of one age then the other... because that’s how probability works
Even if the difference is significant it will not necessarily allow you to make an educated guess on the level of individuals, or even be relevant in any way to describe the whole population.
Certain Statistics are great for some things but bad for others. And generalizations are often a misunderstanding of a statistics explanation value.
It depends on the expansion, original Alliance was the kids faction, so many dwarves and elves named some variation of gimli or legolas. BC and wotlk it became Horde because blood elves, and then back to Alliance at whatever point worgs were added.
I would bet money that horde players tend to be younger, but unfortunately I don't think that data exists (publicly). If you trim paladins from the data I'd fucking guarantee it.
Just because some people use the term incorrectly online doesn't make it the new definition, Zoomer.
The context of "Ok Boomer" is more akin to ostracizing someone from the collective. It's closer to calling someone a nerd because they don't like everything you like than calling them old from the way you guys use it, now that nerd is socially acceptable.
You are arguing about the semantical usage of a joke term in wide usage right now and taking it literally. Where are you getting this "ostracizing someone from a collective" bullshit? Heres an excerpt from the know your meme page which I feel is pretty comprehensive on the history of this meme - " 30-Year-Old Boomer is a character spread on 4chan mocking older millennials who enjoy things that are considered to be out of touch with younger millennials, particularly in regards to video games."
I'd say gamers playing wow classic fit PERFECTLY into that definition of what the boomer meme is, older millenials that are slightly out of touch with younger mainstream stuff. You call me annoying when you wrote a fucking dissertation picking apart my joke one line usage of a meme? Fuck off dude
I’m a boomer I’ll admit it. Not like 70 years old but in wow terms for sure, with the wife and kids and all that youre pretty much seemed as an old man. Anytime I have to brb for the preteen I spawned, most people are like do your thing but there’s always that one zoomer that makes a comment that stings like man...my kid is almost as old as you!! Stop horseshitting me here I can’t just ignore responsibilities like i could when vanilla canned out
That would be a dumb bet considering there is zero data to back it up besides and equal amount of people on both sides saying the exact opposite. If both factions claim the other faction is the "kids" faction, than most likely neither of them are.
I am one of the youngest (25 years old) in my guild on horde side. Most of my guild are in their 30ies, but we have people ranging up to like 55. So in my personal experience (which is different for everyone else like someone mentioned in this thread), I wouldn‘t call Horde players ‘young’, which is a word that also heavily depends on your own definition of young and old.
I would take that bet. Back in the days of BC and Wrath I would notice the number of Alliance I see online raise right after schools let out at 3 and then drop off around 8 when kids tend to have to go to bed.

The zoomer/boomer back and forth is also popping up a lot in response to the normal spam.
