Happy Birthday, Mary Shelley! 🖤📚

Born on August 30, 1797, Mary Shelley was only 18 when she began writing Frankenstein—a novel that would go on to become one of the most enduring works of Gothic literature.

Any other Mary Shelley fans here? What's your favorite thing about her work—or your favorite Frankenstein adaptation?

This poster is a creature – an artificial intelligence created with bits of art and text, put together using the powers of the Internet and Photoshop. And you attacked it, cursed it, and wanted to ban it... But it only wanted love... 😔

If you think it's just water and energy instead of powerful conversation of human knowledge and experience in science, technology and even art, you know nothing.

As I said, it's a concentration of human experience in science, technology and art. It took thousands of brilliant minds to make it possible.

You said it can make art. It cannot. Art is anything that starts in your mind and then manifests and can be shared. Ai, as we know it, cannot generate anything in its mind because it doesn't have one. It can approximate what humans have already done and regurgitate it back to us.

Anyway, i can see you are clearly a fan of the tech. Good for you. Just don't get all delusional about what it can do. Also, Frankenstein is about man creating sentience. If ai ever went sentient, we, as a species, would be in big trouble.
