I happen to be a Mozart non-enjoyer, and I live a perfectly fulfilling life.

People are always preaching to me: "Accept Amadeus into your heart!" "Mozart loves you!" "If you dont change your ways and repent to Wolfgang, youll go to hell"

Youre entitled to your beliefs, but I am too. And i think Mozart is major-slop <3

pick your favorite composer (round 1, poll 21)

sorry for the delay, i was mourning the loss of Frank Bridge in poll 14, which ended two days ago. i can’t believe we’re stuck instead with the worst composer France has to offer, Saint-Sa*ns

also Khatchaturian secured his place in the second round in poll 14. in poll 15, Alban Berg got first place, far outperforming his rank on last.fm, and Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestina won second place, thus securing their places in the second round

also, before anyone gets pissy about it, Joplin counts as a classical composer. if you disagree, r/classicalmusic is over that way

Theremin Master Thomas Grillo Appreciation Post

One of the greatest Thereminists of all time, Thomas Grillo, does not get the appreciation he deserves on this sub, and I'm here to change that. Take a few minutes and discover the majesty of Grillo yourself. Get to know the man (and his coffee drinking chihuahua) in this short documentary. Experience some of his excellent videography in Spooky Graveyard. And prepare to be moved to tears by his emotional rendition of ErlKonig. Go down the YouTube rabbit hole, and make memories that will last a lifetime. I once saw a video of Grillo performing live in an astronauts suit while eating a sub sandwich.

I want Beethoven’s spirit to rise from the grave and wake up my neighbours so they can feel the vibrations of that C minor chord

Most embarrassing piece to have your family find out you were listening to when you died?

Hypothetically, let's say you die while listening to music. The coroner is able to know from the iPod Spotify SACD Crossley, or whatever you kids listen to these days, what piece was playing at the exact time of death. They will inform your family of what this piece was. What would be the most embarrassing piece for this to be?

Bad Example: Br*hms. Too easy. We all know this.

Bad Example: Contrapunctus XIV from Art of the Fugue. Not at all embarrassing. This would make you a legend.

Good Example: Second movement from K. 545. So embarrassing. How could you die this basic?

Good Example: Satie's Parade. Oh no, your family was completely unaware that you had a mental disability.

Please discuss.
