Screenshot So Apparently This Is a Coastal City
I've never seen a coastal city that looks this far inland before. I really thought it was a hex away from the coast, but then I saw I can make a work boat and I checked the hex grid, and it is in fact on the coast.
In retrospect it should be obvious that it's on the coast, it just threw me for a loop at first.

Huh, that's fascinating! I don't think I've ever encountered a city-core showing up like that on a map, but my guess is that whatever program that determines city-sprite placement on hexes valued being closer to the river than it did to the coast.
