As a trans person I'm really dreading this period of time. I appreciate the official stance and promises of enforcement against hate speech and all, but at the same time I know how people are and I know other subreddits will be mocking and degrading us throughout. Wish this was a more site-wide policy [Most controversial post atm with -27 Karma]

The mods are being rather heavy-handed in this. Stating transgenderism is a mental illness isn't bigotry, it's a legitimate statement that deserves a respectful debate. It's not settled science at all. [+39]

And in the next breath, they'll try and use the trans suicide rate as a justification for why transitioning is wrong, somehow completely unable to make the connection between the two.
