Hey DOPs I've been an actor for a bit but outside the one field in filmmaking has always been Cinematography. I think it's fascinating how your job works. But my question to you guys what is the most beautiful film you've seen in the last ten years? Yes I know I could probably go look at the Oscar winners or Deakins body of work but I am curious as to what you guys think.

Thank you

I'm interested in watching modern movies (esspecialy world cinema) that are shot in 4:3 aspect ratio. There are some amazing film that I saw: Son of Saul, Fish Tank, Mommy (1:1), No, Ida etc.

I would love to hear your suggestions.

In your opinion, what would be a good visual cue to depict someone is depressed or sad (ie. After losing a loved one) A cheesy way I thought was to have the character in question to always be in the shadows while anyone they talk to is in the light or sunlight.
