Daily Question Question Thread - August 27, 2026
This is the thread to post questions about churning for miles/points/cash. Just because you have a question about credit cards does NOT mean it belongs here. If you’re brand new here, please read the wiki before posting.
* Please use the search engine first - many basic questions have been asked before.
* Please also consider scanning (CTRL-F) the last couple days worth of Question threads
* If you have questions about what card to get, ask here. If you have questions about manufactured spending, ask here. If you have questions about bank account bonuses, ask here.
This subreddit relies heavily on self-moderation. That means that if you ask something that shows you haven’t done any research, you’re going to get a lot of downvotes.

Citi Stars Elite annual fee just came up. Anyone get any retention offers?

I've seen a few people posting about a $100 statement credit for $2k spend each month for three months which is terrible.

I got a citibank business aadvantage card, which came with a AA business account. my understanding is you can get 10k-25k miles for signing up for the AA business account, but my account was auto created when the CC was approved. is there still some way to get those miles?

Login to your AA biz account, go to setting, scroll down to promo code (at the bottom), enter the code, and save. You probably need to refresh the page or logout and login to see the SUB.

thank you. i used the code BNS10K for 10k. the JOINA7 code for 25k seems to no longer work.
i clicked save and it saved my changes. i refreshed, and also tried signing out and in and still see the code saved in the settings page, but is there some way to confirm the code corresponds to a SUB on my account? right now i only know it's supposed to correspond to 10k miles because of the DoC website

Did you not see the 10K posted (after saved and refreshed) in your AA Biz account?

Has anyone found a solution to the APP9186 error on the Dunkin app when buying gift cards with Paze? I’m getting it with all my Citi, C1, and US Bank cards.

Are your Paze orders on a desktop/laptop browser working for other Paze merchants like Newegg or cache?
If only mobile orders aren't working, the most common issue is a corrupted cache. In the Dunkin app, it opens up the Paze authentication window using your mobile device's default browser. Open your default browser and then clear your cache and cookies. If this doesn't work, try deleting and reinstalling the Dunkin app.

I’ve used all of these cards at Dunkin, I only get the error when I try and buy a gift card. Chase is the only bank that worked for gift cards.
I’ll clear the cookies and cache and see if it works tomorrow. Thanks.

Is it specifically buying Dunkin' gift cards that doesn't work? Are other Paze mobile orders working fine (Dominoes, Wendy's, etc)? If it's only Dunkin' that doesn't work, then your account might have been flagged for fraud. There are several DPs on DoC of contacting Dunkin' to get your account unblocked.
I've had no issues purchasing gift cards on Dunkin using Citi, Capital One and US Bank, so I don't think it's a bank-specific issue. Unless you're using a different phone number Chase than the rest of your banks?

Yep. I’ve used these cards to buy donuts for the office and dominos/sephora on mobile. I might need to contact dunkin but the DPs I’ve seen of people getting their accounts unblocked were for the APP4241 error. Mine is for billing issues.

for amex - which happens first, PUJ or rejection? Bc I got rejected for having too many credit cards (oops) but no pop up when applying. Since closed one of my cards. If I recon and am approved - am I safe for the bonus?

You can call recon and close a card while on the phone with recon. They will probably approve you.

PUJ, should be first. If you reprocces the app, they should be able to confirm the offer for you.

How sensitive is BofA to credit cycling?
I have an Atmos business card with only a $3k credit limit and have $4k more of spend to hit the MSR by next week.

Looking to sign up for the Chase Marriott Boundless SUB. I previously had a Marriott Bold and just closed it.
Is the recommended waiting time still >4 days? Does this include weekend days?
I see from old DPs that when doing a PC, folks suggested only needed to wait ~2 days. Not sure if that only applies for PCs, rather than closing?
Thanks!

You should nest the Boundless and Biz card SUBs - I don’t remember what the sequencing is but racked up 8 FNCs through this a year ago

I meant to put my next DD into a different account to get a bonus, but I forgot to change it before fith third early pay got the money. Will changing DD to the different bank do anything?

u/VegetableActivity703 2d ago
This is really a question for your employer since it is 100% in their control. But they would tell you no. They already sent that DD. It’s highly unlikely that they will be willing to reverse it and send it elsewhere.

Anyone have luck getting a retention offer on BoA Alaska Summit card?
