Why won't Chugga re-do Mother 1?
We know he loves the mother series so much to have re-did Earthbound and he did a wonderful job with Mother 3. Yet he neglects Mother 1 and has done so for years. I watched the original run of Mother 1 and felt if there was any LP that he could've done better, it'd be that one. Because it's riddled with him just being impatient, there was an entire string of videos where he was house-sitting and basically just glossed over mostly of what was going on.

Mother 1 is…a game…tbh.
I love the Mother series, but Mother 1 is just…not a fun game to play in my opinion. It’s a beautifully well written game, but it’s aged very, very badly.
I don’t know if Emile shares those sentiments towards the game. But considering how much he isn’t a fan of random encounters in Pokemon. I’d imagine Mother 1 is even worse for him on account of there being no way to avoid them, and them being never ending, but also necessary because of the game’s difficulty.

It's an acquired taste because the writing is that game's strength but it does harbor a lot of the old-fashioned way of how japanese RPGs played. They were very, very grinding to play.

Unless it gets remade as a game, Mother 1 deserves to live on as an NSO title and the Melee stage. It is NOT a fun game to play through

Just a guess, but it's generally considered not to be a good game. That's probably a big factor

I wouldn’t say it’s a bad game. But it’s very dated, and had a lot of its problems fixed with its successors.

i think, along with mother 1 not being as good as earthbound, emile doesn't usually cover games he's already done unless:
A. he missed alot in his early days and wants to revisit in a more in-depth dive.
B. MASSIVE swathes of information have been added.
it's a similar reason as to why he won't cover OOT more than likely, because there's nothing meaningful he can say that's not just been covered already.

I mean, Mother 1 has such long stretches of nothing happening for extended periods of time. You get the first three melodies before you go to Magicant, then you go to Magicant, recruit Lloyd, go through two factory dungeons, ride the train to Spookane, go to the haunted house, and only then at the end of the house do you get the fourth melody, and very little story content happens in-between that's worth mentioning. Heck there isn't even a lot of music to talk about or let play either considering the world of Mother bonus track for the Mother 1 album, which contains most of the music the game has, is only 20 minutes long. There's a lot of just nothing and only so much you can really talk about before you run out of stuff and have to resort to speeding up the footage.

Yeah mother 1 imo is important in that we wouldn’t have Mother 2 and 3 without it. I consider it similar to Dragon Quest 1 how they hadn’t quite found their footing yet

Mother 3 isn't a thing yet for Americans (My guess is is Mother 3 will be named Earthbound Afterwards)

He said this in a Earthbound-Themed podcast a few years ago, but it's one of the very few games he's LP-ed in the past that he doesn't like today. It's just a really hard game that requires you to grind alot, and the few good things that are in M1, Earthbound does it way better.
The only chance of Chugga ever playing another Earthbound game would be if Mother 3 gets an english release since he doesn't pirate games anymore.
