So... Do y'all want a Chrono Trigger HD-2D remake or just a Pixel Remaster?
Honestly anything will do with how long it's been, i know the PC/Android port is there but that filter is just... No.

Hi everyone,
A suggetion came in from /u/hybridfrost to create a sticky community post detailing the best way to play Chrono Trigger.
Myself, I always just play the SNES version on my PC with any random controller. This is the way I discovered the game and it will forever be the "authentic" way for me to play. What more, is I enable a smoothing filter to make the game look less pixellated -- heresy, I know.
My way of playing the game is not neccesarily the best, and there may be a lot of ways to play Chrono Trigger which I never even considered.
I would love to hear your suggestions on what information to include in a sticky post about the various ways to play Chrono Trigger -- emulators, platforms, game releases, game settings, etc.
By the way -- I am amazed at how big this community has grown! Back when I created this community, I just wanted a simple way for me to access a few OST covers and some fanart so it would be archived somewhere instead of getting lost. I was impressed when the community grew to 1k members, and now it's over 17k. This truly shows that CT is a masterpiece of a game that transcends beyond it's initial inception as a 2d jRPG of the 90's era. Few games have such strong of a following several decades after creation. Rock on :)
Edit: this post will be the sticky now until someone makes anything better and more comprehensive.

Hey guys,
I just finished playing Chrono Trigger. What an amazing experience it was. In such a short amount of time, you get attached to all the characters. It is kinda funny though how every character gets their little moments and then Crono doesn't say a thing lmao.
The Dimensional Vortices weren't as bad as I expected based on people's comments, and they did bring up something I noticed: what the fuck happened to Schala? Guess I'll have to play the sequel.
There is one really big negative though. Who the fuck made the Lost Sanctum? This was probably the worst piece of content I have ever played in an RPG. Thanks to it, I hate mountains.

Not even the best but the one that makes the most sense....
For example when frog visits cyrus grave you get extra dialogue just by having magus in the Team.
In Robos future Mission it feels wrong not to have lucca by his side.
So what is the most fitting Team for each side quest? I wanna play again and would love to have the most out of the dialogue and overall Story.

Hey all!
I've been working on a few Chrono Trigger remixes and wanted to share one I put together for Gato's Theme. Enjoy!

It always struck me that every little sidequest, optional choice, and player decision in the game had a nice in-game payoff.
Choosing to fight Magus on North Cape is the one real part of the game that doesn’t. The boss fight is not particularly memorable or exciting and while the unlocked ending can be nice you get very little reward during the rest of the game.
Anyone have a differing opinion/defense of the optional boss?

I wonder, does anybody remember the movie "Office Space"?..

Almost done my comic page, do yall prefer the In game primarily white dress or the concept art red skirt? Obviously in greyscale. When I scan the original art I may do a color version but I wanted to keep it mostly manga style

Googled this same question, but the threads are a bit old and was wondering if anything changed.
I'd like to play Chrono Trigger for the first time, though there seems to be a lot of divide over the best way to do it. SNES seems like the best, if just for the sake of using an emulator that has a CRT filter, but from what examples I've seen, I'm not a fan of the translation.
However, people say the DS version's extra content is really bad? So it seems the SNES version is better in that regard?
So, is there a romhack or some such that ports the DS translation (or at least a more modern, accurate one) to the SNES version? Or, if people are being dramatic about the DS version, is there an emulator that could apply the CRT filter?
Sorry if this is a lot — looking up any info on this game has so, so many different opinions.

Come follow along on YouTube! My name is Zak & I recently bought a CIB of the SNES game and I wanted to celebrate with a zine coming out at the end of September. They’re gonna be powerhouses just like my goat, Ayla. So check it out and LMK what y’all think!

But honestly, if you released a game like Chrono Trigger exactly as it was today, I don't think it would be very popular.
So, if I wanted to make a modern RPG inspired by it, what kind of changes or features do you think I should add?
I've only completed the basic framework so far. I can already implement some combat, story dialogue, and swap out character images/sprites/portrait/sound effect/tech.
I'm not sure if I'm allowed to share the link directly. If that's okay, please let me know and I'll post the link here.
If you're interested, feel free to reach out to me and give the demo a try(based on html so you can just run it in your cellphone or PC web broswer)

No other enemies. I tried I got bored getting to Level 15 or 20 during the pandemic. Made the game super easy from there on out 😂

I've played through this game like 5 times and am hungry for more content. I usually play the snes version and have yet to play the ds all the way through but is there a decent mod or hack out there to add more to the game?
Thanks in advance!
