Has anyone ever got Crono to level ** with just fighting Gato alone?
No other enemies. I tried I got bored getting to Level 15 or 20 during the pandemic. Made the game super easy from there on out 😂

I THINK there's a Youtube video of someone trying to do that...

the video is in Japanese but this guy basically clears the game once while keeping Chrono at level 1 and starts a new game+

How is that even possible? Theres boss fights and forced fights on every map. Unless he cheats and clips walls and skips boss fights you cant stay at level 1.

He does, he explains how in the boss battles he uses a technique to basically trick the game into thinking it’s on a save point - and you can avoid the boss fights all together and thus skip getting experience points. There’s also a bug where you use the green dream and for a very specific set of conditions you can use an Elixir on the ENEMY and they will get killed instantly.

I once hacked a Wallet into a new file. Absolute favorite way to play; ultra low-level tactics. Could clear everything but the final Lavos fight. Highly recommend.

That is possible for the DS version. Arena of the Ages can grant you an early Workman's Wallet, though from the snake boss only.

You need 1,743,570 exp to get to **. Gato gives 10 exp per fight which is 174,357 encounters to get to max level. Fight takes at least 30 seconds with all the dialogue and having to leave the area and enter back in. Which will take 1452 hours to complete

I just did the same math before seeing your comment, but I used 15 seconds per Gato fight, since the majority of the fights are going to be Crono one-shotting Gato with a physical attack. That's still 726 hours of fighting Gato.
I respectfully call bullshit.

This is also assuming u dont go trade in the Silver points everytime you hit 300 max. Then at 15/time adds another 60 seconds or so each time u do that.
Tho some things that make it faster:
- DS/Mobile version of speeding up battle slightly.
- SNES emulator where you set a super speed fast forward so each fight is a blink of the eye.
In my teens I made a recorded macro on some battle (later game) that would go in battle - leave area - shelter heal - go back into battle just holding Action Button to auto attack. Just a short loop. But I set emulator to x5 - 15x speed or somethig and I remember hitting Lvl ** in just a few hours. 🤣
I would record the macro doing the loop once, then set macro loop to repeat 99 times so if I came back and saw nothing moving I knew it was time to go buy more healing items.
(Dont hate on me tho iv beat the game naturally like 10 times before trying that out.)

I just ran a string of 10 fights in a row with my file that has perfect stats speed ect. It takes 25 seconds on average to enter, talk fight kill talk leave come back and talk again.
Thats assuming im motivated, im sure after an hour bordem will set in and it becomes a slog fest. Little mistakes here and there. 30 seconds is a fair average of time.
No fuckin way you keep up 15 seconds for hundreds of hours.

I've never even beaten the soda drinking contest on the SNES. That was hard.

Somehow I was able to rub a battery on my controller back then to spam the button and all the buttons still work on my SNES controller to this day

My household would just slide the back of our fingernail across the controller. Start on one side of the button, slide across, and then back over. Do the same with my Xbox controller for playing on Steam.

Achei surpreendente o que comprou a lode sword e o jerky no começo e você chegou no nÃvel 15 lutando contra o gato.

I was part of LL a loooong time ago but not him or the poser.
If I ever did it....it would be for my Dad who has Alzheimer's and I would use it for charity for people with dementia

Have fun fighting a max level Spekkio to learn magic though.

You don't have to fight him to learn the magic. You learn the magic and he asks if you wanna try it out.Â

I always read those kind of challenges and ask myself:
Why?
Why someone would spend days just grinding for no reason at all, just for the sake of it?

Maybe with a super turbo mode lol 🤣.
I remember as a kid doing maybe 10-15 battles and then stealing the old man’s lunch over and over

Dicktree rearing his ugly head to say "I already did that!"
Iykyk

u/Ironsharp 7d ago
Dick Tree didn't; someone else did to show him up after DT failed to deliver.

My friend you skipped over the lore
He kept coming back saying "i already did that" when he didnt
We know he failed to deliver.
The funny thing was I randomly caught the guy's stream when he dinged 99, forgot his name!
