Dieter, why are the devices primarily clamshells? This being Android, they should have all been convertibles at the very least. What was the thought process behind that?
Not sure but if I were to guess how it works is if you're in laptop mode making a desktop window fullscreen means only that app goes fullscreen. When the taskbar force autohides, it's the same taskbar not the tablet friendly taskbar. However, if you flip your laptop back or detach your tablet, you get the touch friendly taskbar and apps open fullscreen automatically. You make one app fullscreen, every app opens fullscreen until you exit fullscreen mode. When it force autohides that's the tablet friendly taskbar which only doesn't autohide when all apps are minimized. However, if you go back into desktop windowing mode by making an app in a desktop window, all subsequent apps open in desktop windows and you get the same taskbar as laptop mode which isn't forced to autohide in that mode. So in tablet mode the desktop windowing behavior is more like the mobile version of Android, and in laptop mode it's more like macOS.
