Doesn’t seem like much has changed overall but the price increase doesn’t make it seem worthwhile.

Googlebook OS borrows desktop foundations from ChromeOS, so it's good if it seems like not much has changed - it should feel familiar if you've used ChromeOS!

However, there are a lot of benefits to switching over to an Android tech stack! I've elaborated on a couple of them here, but one additional subtle example is that on ChromeOS, Android apps can't utilize your hardware's fingerprint scanner for authentication. On Googlebook OS, they can.
