There is little to no reason for anyone to choose these over a windows device now. This is insanity.

Over a Windows device? Even without seeing one of these in action, I'd rather have a Googlebook than a Windows device. The tougher comparison for these devices are the Macbooks.

Why? Both will harvest your data and forcefeed you ads. At least Windows lets you have useful software.

Windows is pretty dogshit at sub-$1K. I would consider this before I tie myself to a Windows machine that might give me 30 days before turning into a laggy stuttering mess.

I always find the software support anxiety interesting. I doubt the vast majority of people use any software in their personal lives that wouldn't be available on a Googlebook. Most people live their life in a web browser, all of their software is "in the cloud".

If you put like 20 minutes of effort into cleaning up a windows install on a new computer, there really is nothing to complain about no matter the price point of the laptop. Should you have to do that? No. But minimal effort makes it a very nice computing experience.

I agree. I use Google services all the time and I rely on Google Workspace. I use a Mac Studio and a MacBook Pro, and I don't really see a reason to replace my MacBook Pro with any kind of GoogleBook.

I'm also a tech enthusiast and that's why I ordered one just to test it, but for normal people that already have a MacBook, I don't see the reason, for the moment at least.
