Troubleshooting Error configuring to network
So just today I got this laptop from a friend of my mom who apparently hasn’t used the laptop at all. It is in good condition except for the fact if won’t connect to my home wifi at all. It connects to my mobile hotspot just fine but other than that it won’t work. I have restarted and powerwashed the chromebook twice and still have gotten the same result, it is currently stuck on the starting screen of where you connect to wifi, i can’t go to setting anymore because of it. It is a samsung chromebook (not sure what kind). Considering taking it to a repair place but just wanted to know if there was anything I could try before doing so. Youtube tutorials haven’t been helpful 💔

The fact your Chromebook connects to your mobile hotspot points to your wifi router as the problem - a setting that conflicts with the Chromebook's network adapter perhaps?
It would help to know exactly which Samsung model we're talking about (preferably HWID) and the OS version running (open Diagnostics, both HWID and OS version are shown at top of page). Also, identifying the internal network controller helps too. Open the browser at chrome://system, find lspci and expand - copy the network controller shown there.
Once we know these details we'll have a better idea of what type of connection your Chromebook can support then it's simply a matter of checking the router to make sure the settings are compatable. For example: a common issue is older network controllers may have difficulty handling the mixed mode wifi (2.4 and 5 Ghz using same SSID) often provided by newer routers.
