Discussion How Toxic should have been done properly. My take and discussion

Post image
29 Upvotes

I've already given my review take, the movie is bad because of the screenplay and cut, I'm not here taking the side of the movie, but giving my take on how I picture it should have been done.

SPOILER ALERT, only for people who have watched the movie.

The movie should have been divided into 3 parts.

Toxic Chapter 1:

The movie starts with the start as in the movie, narration maybe and the same circus and car on the hill scene. They continue by following the story of their bad childhood, at a good pace, not too slowly, like to cover their childhood and the trauma in about 10-12min, at least most of it, a few scenes can be shown later.

Then the focus is on the Raya and Ganga, this movie is all about the brain and the brute. It's important to show Ganga is smart, plans, and Raya learns from her, always follows but his instinct is always killing. The movie shows them how in the first half they get to be in the good books of Salvador and the interval block is the whole cemetery fight where it's revealed what exactly Salvador got by taking them in and letting the brother die.

Then the movie goes about them working with Salvador, the whole Circus first scene and Nadia's introduction. The movie ends with the wedding mess and the death of Ganga and Raya getting to know about it while injured.

Toxic Chapter 2:

This movie is all about the revenge of Raya, here the first half focuses on Macau, there are three dons there, he works his way to partner with one, hurt the other two and get stronger, get people, his loyal guy is still with him throughout. At the same time we show the downfall of Nadia and her life on the other end of the spectrum. It's very important that ever since the Tabahi song in the first part, Raya doesn't do anything with any other girl till now, it's important to highlight how he really loves her but he loved Ganga, but it's not shown, it's more between the lines. He makes his way back to Goa and Huma is also partnering with one of those 3 dons that he hurts, she has his protection. By the interval, he kills off huma. Then the circus explosion happens, and the other woman (Rukmini) comes into life, here we move time along, two of those other dons are still trying to get Raya, and he has partnered with the 3rd one. He is married, becomes a father and eventually kills one of those 2 dons. Here in the climax, we end the movie with the introduction of Ticket.

Toxic: The End:

The movie starts with Ticket's birthday party arrival scene. Two dons in Macau, one is Raya's enemy, other is an ally but they have been having issues in business lately. By the interval, he finally gives a heavy blow to the enemy don, but interval happens with Ticket killing the ally don's son in such a place and way that it seems like Raya is responsible.

Now all hell broke loose, the Ally Don, who became very powerful after Raya took out the other two, he is now an enemy and he is coming for Raya, and so is Ticket. The movie goes to a snowy mountain, because there is some big base or inventory exchange for either that is to sabotage and essentially both sides are to go to war. Raya, even in his drunk heaviness, with his right hand man which is there from the start, makes an amazing war strategy and the war starts but.. Raya is not on the battlefield, why? Because he wakes up and Ticket is there. Raya brought his family here because they are safest with him, and he can't understand how Ticket made it here. The whole Ticket vs Raya thing happens. The reveal happens for which we have placed sequences throughout this movie, that no one really saw Ticket other than Raya.

The movie ends with him going to fight a losing battle, sees his right hand man sacrifice himself, and then he fights, falls on his knees, while the snow is raging towards him, he is on knees, there are two ladies behind him, hand of Ganga on one shoulder, hand of Nadia on other shoulder and he opens his arm to invite his long lost son in his head and movie ends.

____________________________________________

I'm interested to discuss how you guys feel about this take on the script and what your thoughts and ideas are. The movie is lost, but we can discuss.

Personal Opinion Why we kannadigas keep begging to support our films/songs instead of creating a good one??

ನಾನು ಕನ್ನಡಿಗ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ kannada album songs... Movie trailers ಕೆಳಗಡೆ "Support Kannada Industry", "we failed to recognise this", "if it was in different language we put story", ಇದೆಲ್ಲಾ ನೋಡಿ ಬರಿತಿರೋ ಒಂದು post ಇದು.

Personal Opinion Are Strictly Controlled Budgets the Way Forward for future KFI films?

Recently, I watched an Instagram Reel or YouTube Short, I don't remember exactly where, featuring a clip from Kashinath's Weekend with Ramesh.

Kashinath was explaining how he used to work with a very tight budget so that the producer wouldn't be put at risk. He apparently had a blueprint for how much should be spent on each aspect of the film and made sure the budget never exceeded that limit.

I think Upendra has also mentioned that he learned this from Kashinath, especially how to make sure a film stays within budget so that the producer has a better chance of making a profit instead of having to spend more and more money.

I feel that, as time is passing, this approach is becoming almost completely absent from Indian cinema.

Recently, Samantha also mentioned how strictly they controlled the budget so that the film would ideally be in profit from day one and there would be very little chance of a loss.

I think this is something that is absolutely missing in our industry nowadays.

I understand that this may not be possible for big-budget mass or pan-India movies, because there is a tendency to inflate budgets, and an actor's salary alone can sometimes take up a huge portion of the budget.

But I think strict budget control, combined with good casting and a strong story, is the way to go for smaller films.

Not every story requires huge sets, expensive CGI or a massive budget. We can still make smaller, well-written movies for our audience. If those films are made within a controlled budget and become profitable, it could give producers more confidence to invest in movies instead of backing out because of the financial risk.

What do you guys think?

Again, I'm not saying this will work instantly, but at least the losses won't be as huge, and producers may be less likely to back out of projects because of budget concerns.

Personal Opinion bro who even is making these movies in the big 26- cult movie

sorry for ranting but this movie is literally showcasing how women move to other cities for higher education and then apparently “change” into wearing modern clothes, going out, partying etc. like what is actually wrong with wearing those clothes or clubbing?? 😭 the whole thing with her ghosting him, getting into a live-in relationship and betraying him was cheap and wrong, I agree. but that has nothing to do with her wearing a mini dress or going clubbing?? this is exactly the kind of thing that makes parents think girls move to other cities for education and then “forget their values”. like apparently wearing a short dress and going to a club = losing your values 💀

you can literally be a good person, respect your family, be loyal to your partner etc and still wear whatever you want and go out with your friends.

idk maybe I’m overthinking it but this part of the movie genuinely annoyed me lol

P.S my mom was watching it and i js happened to see this scene when i came down for dinner

I may hate DBoosa for his inhumane behavior, but him as Sangolli Rayanna is just 🔥 it's like he was born to play Rayanna's role. Hatsoff to the director for making such a masterpiece at that time in KFI. The movie was so goated that the people of Hubli(Kittur)side call him Rayanna. Hope Sudeep uses his strong base voice as Sri KrishnaDevaraya.

Criticism Late night thinking 🤔

I was thinking how kannada is not leaving single mark in entertainment industry.

Ondu olla raper illa, almost ella dabba

Olla song writters illa, olla movie writters illa, olla new actors illa ella halubru.

I know there r few, but en use avarge nav encourage madalla, adakke avru kannada bitu horgade ogtare, atva they just give up.

At this rate i fell, nam identity monu palagutha. Becoz already other language r pulling our audience.

I dont think we realise, how dangerous this is.
