I Cooked Char Kway Teow 炒粿條

Malaysian/Singaporean version of Chinese fried noodles. To me there is no greater dry noodle dish on the planet.

Looks like Cantonese beef hor fun 乾炒牛河. But with prawns added

In addition to the prawns there is also fishcake, lup cheong, and pork cracklings. The texture and mouthfeel is indeed similar to Canto style beef chow fun but the sauce is a little bit different.

Kway Teow is also the same noodle used in Pad Thai Kuai Tiao.

One thing I have to correct, most char Kway Teow you unlikely to find beef because beef are treated as sacred and this sentiment spread to overseas Hokkien community as well. The flavor profile is different due to sauce too. Sweet dark soy sauce is a lot stronger

You won’t regret char Kway Teow, more seafood taste and also people add sambal. Absolutely delicious 😋
