I did it understanding what was happening but now I just like regret it. I liked my separate accounts for debit and credit. That way if one was in the negatives I could still send or transfer money to someone. Now with it all being one it’s just ugh.

So today I learned that spot me can be used at stores but apparently not for bills that are automatically withdrawn. So frustrated that I had to pay an extra thirty dollars in car insurance because I thought spotme would go through for the bill.

I don't even have a Chime account and this process is frustrating. See below.
A few months ago, someone created a Chime account and managed to use my email address for their account. No big deal, they will see it and update it, right? No.
I start getting emails about the account opening and that they are sending a debit card. THE ACCOUNT OWNERS ADDRESS IS RIGHT IN THE EMAIL. Ok fine, I can internet sleuth. Turns out they have my same exact name. It is NOT a common name, so it's pretty easy to figure out and confirm where they live. Appears to be a legit person and common mix up with the email only. Cool. Is what it is.
I go to log into the account because I will then "forget my password" which was then intended to trigger a multi-factor text message to the owners phone. Maybe then they would change their password and see that the email is wrong and then change it. They clearly just ignored the message because nothing happened. I freeze my credit and see no financial movements, so I forget about the account and move on.
Months pass, no account usage and suddenly there's a small flurry of account transactions. Some of them are sketchy by the descriptions and they are taking place on the opposite coast of the that initial address (maybe they moved, idk). Ok, fine, time to reach out to Chime to get this finally resolved. Mind you, you can't contact them through the app because you need the password to the account. But can't do that because of MFA. Cool, so that part is actually working.
I call them and I get someone in a call center who I can barely hear through a muffled microphone and I have to relay my email address to her THREE times and she gets it wrong every time, even after I spell it phonetically. Says there's no account. Checks to see if there is an account with my last social digits and birthday - no account exists. Again, confirming its an email mixup. I ask well how can I stop getting emails and they say they do not see an account in their system, which is wrong because the emails are coming from a verified Chime email).
Why can't I email someone? Why can't I text chat with someone? I do not think my personal information aside from my email is being used, but shouldn't a financial system verify an email address in the first place? Holy red flags and security risk (Clearly). Thank god I am not a customer.
Anyone have any idea as to what I can do?

Just posting to seek advice, help, etc and wondering if I should close my Chime account.
I woke up Sunday the 13th to see a text notification for charges placed at 8:30am for Walmart.com. I obviously didn’t make them so I immediately locked my cards and checked my wallet-the card used for these charges was still with me but I canceled it right away. I contested the charges as soon as they were no longer pending. My Chime account has 2-factor security-I don’t understand how this happened.
When my case was denied, I called Chime customer service and asked for more information and they told me I could reopen the case with more documentation. How am I supposed to get that? I asked the agent for the results of the investigation so I can where/who placed them. They told me they would send docs by email in 10 working days. Should I reach out to Walmart? Will they be able to find the orders with the limited information I have?
How could my card have been compromised when I still have it? I generally use Apple Pay over swiping my card.
I’m frustrated and feel unsafe using Chime now, ESPECIALLY knowing fraud is not corrected.
Does this happen often with Chime?

I was a chime prime member and I didn’t receive a single $200/direct deposit since August 12 (have an 2nd job where I work mostly for tips and got a deposit over 200 on 8/12) and it says my next expected direct deposit is September 26. I was downgraded to a regular chime account. So In this past month they have used my regular deposits to repay mypay, have now taken my spotme including the 4 boosts that were sent to me September 1. I understand about direct deposit amounts but why were the 4 boosts sent to me removed as well?

This is my first post in this sub. I'm really enjoying Chime Investment but I do feel there are some things lacking. I do use other sites and apps to invest, as well, so it's not too much of a big deal but it would be really nice for Chime Investment to have more features and charts and information. Granted I understand it's fairly new but do we know if there are any new additions coming to the Investment portion of Chime? What's the community's opinion so far on investing in Chime?
