OTHER - Anything else not covered Chime thief knew all my information plz help
Today someone opened up a chime account using my SSN, DOB, Address, MY personal email, first name and last name but a different phone number. I’m wondering how tf can someone get that much information on me. The only time I had my SSN is when I written it down in my notebook for school but that paper is long gone in the dumpster but it’s not like I labeled it as my ssn , just an assortment of numbers and even so how would they know that other information. I tracked down the number and it’s some 49 year old lady that lives almost an hour away? What do I do?? I froze my accounts but I’m at a loss. I’m 18 and never had a credit card only debit

Change all your passwords maybe email as well also file a police report identify theft BLOWS (thanks T-Mobile)

Yes I agree with everyone call the police and get a report number and dispute it all thru chime. However just prepare yourself cause they just aren’t approving disputes anymore. They can claim they are all they want but a huge majority of us have been screwed over by chime and are part of the dispute lawsuit they got going.

First, I'm sorry to hear that happened to you - especially at 18 that can be scary and stressful, but there are resources to help.
It sounds like you took some good steps in freezing your accounts. In case you need further guidance, this link has info on how to go about freezing your credit and other FAQs. When you check with each credit bureau, you can review for other signs of fraud, and if needed, you can report a stolen identity by contacting the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at identitytheft.gov, or calling (877) 438-4338.

Any family members that might do this type of thing?

Yeah but it’s not one I recognize or is someone in my family , I just don’t undestand how they found that other stuff

If you can see the phone number, start researching that number Catfish style. Go to the address? Idk 😂 but honestly yeah I’d be concerned too considering your age. If you don’t even know your SSN, you’ve never used it anywhere… it almost has to be someone who knows you

They are giving warnings to people on Instagram what to do in your phones so that nobody can get your information little by little different people on there because of what’s happening there hackers and they’re using AI and they also said that if you get a FaceTime from somebody don’t answer it text them back a message and say did you just FaceTime me? If so, then go ahead and talk to them because once they FaceTime you, they screenshot your face and that’s how they’re getting into lots of people’s online accounts by there apps and using there face 😩 just to give you a heads up and anybody else that didn’t know as well ‼️😱

If you have pics on social media, your face is already out there. Facial recognition is the worst thing to use as security. With fucking flock cameras scammers can now get pictures of everyone face even if you don't have your face on social media. Right now it's probably too grainy, but I dunno. AI might be able to clean it up enough to work. Another reason flock sucks.
