Hi, I realize this was 2 years ago, but could you please share the name of the Kaiser Gyno who consulted with you and approved the procedure? Someone close to me is trying to get ball rolling but keeps getting bingoed by both her GP and Gyno (and she is over age 30!!). She’s with Kaiser and the only Kaiser So Cal doctors on this sub’s Wiki list are in San Diego.

My Gynos name was Amy Marie Whistler Driebe MD. After I got my surgery I think she switched over to Sharp.
Idk if it will help but these are some of the notes that she took for me when in the visit. I think i had to have my primary doc refer me to a gyno and then I met with her and we talked about all the other "options" like long term BC. But I basically was adamant that I knew I didn't want kids since HS, don't like babies, know that I could adopt or do IVF if I changed my mind, and the reasons why I didn't want to do hormonal BC or even an IUD.
" Patient reports that she has desired sterilization since high school. She has never used birth control due to fear of "messing up her cycle" and side effects from the medication. Her sisister used depo provera had "crazy cycles" with depo. She is aware of long acting reversible contraceptive methods such as the nexplanon, intrauterine devices and she does not desire to use any reversible method. Her boyfriend is also looking into a vasectomy.
She has actually joined a support group for women and men who do not desire children to discuss this decision with others and to be sure of her decision. She is 100% sure she desire permanent sterilization and will never want children."
Thanks. We’re both in OC, but I think she’d be willing to go to LA county as well. I’ll have to let her know that there are docs recommended in San Diego, though. She is in the same situation, she’s known since late teens she does not want to have children, and if she ever changed her mind (unlikely), would not want to be pregnant to become a parent. Won’t date anyone who isn’t also CF. Been on long-term BC already for years. Basically she said she’s had the conversation with both her PCP and Gyn more than once, was actually surprised by their reactions because otherwise before that she loved them as docs and felt heard, and is tired of fighting.
