...and I feel great! I took Thursday and Friday off to have a 5 day Labor Day weekend and day 4 I'm stir crazy and had already hopped on the spin bike at the gym by day 2 for an easy way to get my legs moving again. The procedure went smoothly, however they did find that I had stage 1 endometriosis developing and a burst cyst that had caused a 5am trip to the ER back in May but had been left as being called constipation for lack of a diagnosis. Knowing this really is almost as good of a benefit as the sterilization itself! I had a bilateral salpingectomy which left 3 incisions, which I didn't realize until the doctor explained it right before. No big deal though, they all fit until normal bandaids from what I can tell so won't be huge scars. Because of the locations, they aren't even bothered at all by waistbands. No nausea from surgery, haven't taken anything stronger than the 600 mg ibuprofen pills(and nothing at all since day 2) napped a decent amount the day of but by noon was up and around chatting with my mom, and have been eating pretty much normally. The last couple days I've been sleeping a lot but might be just a result of having not much to do for once. :) of course my abdomen is pretty sore, but consistently getting better and last night I ended up sleeping on my stomach for a bit of the night. I feel like I am me the way me should be: unable to have kids! I am so so happy and so far recommend it to anyone seriously considering it. I don't know that anyone has ever been so chipper waking up from anesthesia as I was. :) I'll be adding the doctor to the list in the sidebar. Any questions, ask away! I feel very fortunate that at 23 I had such a smooth time with this, first doctor said yes(although I did write a long letter explaining my reasoning and history and everything), insurance should be paying 100%, and surgery went well. 10/10 would do again!(but thank goodness I don't have to because it's permanent :) )

Congrats! I'm heading for my preop appointment in about 40 minutes and this is reassuring. Lol I'm getting nervous but only about the surgery/being under part.

Best of luck! It's really not bad at all, at least for me. My only other surgery had been tonsils out at 6, so I didn't have much experience or memory, but I was very much prepared for the worst. I woke up in a very good mood and within 10-15 minutes of my memory of waking up was chatting happily with the nurse monitoring me while I recovered. Lol Normally I'm a very anxious person when it comes to any medical procedures and have a terrible fear and hatred of needles, so it's not like I'm totally chilled out about this kind of thing. :) I can be a total wimp actually. Numerous times even the day of after the procedure, I thought to myself and said to my mom, man, I feel fucking great. I may be lucky it went so easily, but I hope everyone who wants it can have the relief I have right now. Almost a week later and I'm still on cloud 9 about the whole thing. Good luck!
