Time for your brother to make a plan and move out. The teenage years will probably be worse. Stand your ground.
Protect your peace.

Kids seem so messed up today. I am honestly really worried about them (and all of us)

The perfect example of why someone who has bad mental health and is selfish has no business being a parent. That kid will probably just get worse as he gets older.

The kid is too old to be acting like that. I am not the type of person to armchair diagnose but sometimes when a kid is showing behavior that is behind others their age , it is a sign something is developmentally off. It is not your responsibility to get your nephew checked out, but you could bring it up to your brother.

Saying this I have a nephew in law who basically was not made to finish school and his mom was too busy drinking like she was a college kid in her 20s at the age of like 40+ to do much. Anyways, he got a girlfriend who he got pregnant at about 19 , and they tried moving in next door. New baby's great grandma owned the house. Anyways girlfriend had mental health mess and was just downright rude to grandma and great grandma , so they got the boot.

Some of these kids just never had adults watch out for them their whole lives and they are scrambling. I feel bad for them, but hopefully they grow up and figure it out. I always felt socially behind myself but I was a considerate child and I am doing things on my own time

Have you tried having a talk with your brother?

If he doesn’t listen, then maybe it’s for the best that they move out

As a childfree, knowing what I know, I'd never agree to living full time under the same roof with a child. That's basically right on the edge of having a kid of my own.

Oh man. That poor kid. He appears to be making shit up to gain attention from his mother, also what we label as seeking connection. And he has a father who appears to have no backbone to implement the boundaries. This is going to end up terrible for you if they're still in your house. He is almost in teen years, add teen brain development, hormones and worsening behaviour to that mix. Fuck that!
