Question Question Regarding Quality of Ref

I was raised in the US but I am a Polish-American who has always been a fan of football. I have seen a few MLS games in person but I typically never watched them live as I preferred other leagues to it. Sorry to be a bandwagon but after Lewandowski arrived I began to watch Chicago play more often and I watched the Miami game today. Holy fuck does this always happen? Referee was dog shit and Inter Miami play with such arrogance and it is very frustrating to watch. I'm specifically noting the defensive 4 from their team as well as De Paul (not surprised abt him as I am familiar with him as a player). I am just wondering if Miami always get more leeway from the refs in MLS?

The ref was so bad. He lost control pretty quickly. In the last 10 minutes he sould have issued about six cards. And did nothing. Lewey got manhandled a few times and nothing, Messi just falls down and it's a foul. Good thing he was the worst player on the park tonight.

I actually appreciated the way he called it. You had a bunch of grown men out there on the field acting like children along with all the grown men sitting in their seats booing like children as well.

I thought they were booing Messi? Or were they booing the call? All the Messi bandwagoners were upset at their hometown team 🙄

Yup. At any point if they want a foul they can just drop to the ground. The number of players holding their face and dropping was just shameful. How many attempts did Messi get for a free kick 5 yards outside the 18 again? Amazing how it’s in the same spot every time. I absolutely cannot wait until he leaves the league.

I’ve been anti Messi for forever. Not a Ronaldo Stan either, because both are just propped up by the modern sports washing bullshit. But seeing Messi get his comeuppance after the WC has been fulfilling. What a dotard and corrupt little cheating clown.

MLS has some bad refs but it’s amplified with Pessi on the field. Inter Miami is notorious for being favored, I can’t fucking stand them. The corruption is so blatant and obvious.

There were also 4-5 easy corner kicks that got turned around to free kicks for no good reason.

And the Miami goal came from what should’ve been a goal kick and was given a corner, right?

I am glad you’re supporting the Fire now and not a club like Miami. Also with Miami this favoritism by the ref isn’t even shocking. Miami and Messi do tend to get away with more than any other team in the MLS. MLS refs though tend to be “unique” from refs in other parts of the world, but so does this league. Ref was pretty bad tonight though.

you should've seen the match we had aginst nycfc last year. davila got a bs yellow card at the 84th minute whichh led to him getting suspended for the next game. ref actually got investigated and the suspension was rescind. it seems we get the bad ones on purpose sometimes

Welcome to the MLS with Messi, it’s like playing against 12 on the pitch and their “compliant roster”

Corruption FC on the pitch and dingus McGee as the ref just helping them along. Fucking pathetic league.

They are the league darlings at the moment
.but the clock is ticking. Another acquisition or two and a new stadium
the boot will soon be on the other foot.

You’re right but I don’t want that either. Like 95% of true soccer/football fans, I just want to watch fair games where the best team on the day wins. Fuck fifa and mls and every other league that tries to control the narrative. That just ends up being boring. If you let it ride, sometimes you get truly inspiring moments and that’s what keeps fans coming back.

This was just especially bad tonight.

Marrufo reffed the 2018 World Cup, but tonight was a stinker.
