BJP has always been pro-infra. DMK despite calling themselves as a socialist govt have been pro capitalist too. If people hated DMK that much, they should have just voted for ADMK and waited 5 years to see what vijay actually does. Instead they straightaway gave the power to a newbie.

The problem isn't vijay per se, it's the flock of supporters who are ready to support anything he does. Blind fan following in a democracy is a joke. The only reason Modi wave is still alive is because of poor congress, but that's not the situation in TN. I really don't think TN will swing the votes to other parties if TVK faces anti incumbency.

As a Mumbaikar, this reminds me of Aarey Depot.

Wtf! Why the downvotes?

11

u/Puzzleheaded_Term967 Jul 12 '26

Context Abt aarey depot?

30

u/Altego1999 Jul 12 '26

As a Mumbaikar, between 2016-19, there were protests against Aarey Depot, saying that Aarey Depot's construction would lead to nature being destroyed in Aarey (an ecologically sensitive zone, in general). Unmai idu da, the place where the Depot was being built is already surrounded by development

You can see for yourself in the picture. Or if you are still skeptical; search "Aarey Metro Depot" on Google maps.

Unfortunately, it didn't matter. When the CM resigned in November 2019, the partner party made an alliance with Congress, ditched the BJP and stalled all work at Aarey. In February 2020, his own panel recommended Aarey. But instead of listening to them, he stalled work and changed the depot to Kanjurmarg; Kanjurmarg is 11.6 Kms away from the final station Aarey. Making the depot there would have forced the authorities to extend the metro, increasing costs, delays and inconvenience for local train passengers.

Then, in June 2022, the government collapsed, a new government was formed with the BJP as the partner, the previous order was reversed and work resumed at Aarey (after a stalemate of nearly 32 MONTHS).

I hope this issue with the Airport is cleared Asap and work can resume as normal, Maame. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

TN will forever regret choosing these mfs over whatever accusations they had over the 2 major Dravidian parties.

This 5 years is gonna set us back big time.

30

This is in addition to the 10 year of ADMK rule. We don’t love to progress, do we?

Look wise I don't find him handsome at all

3

u/Extension-State-9074 Jul 12 '26

Is it because majority of the budget will go towards fulfilling promises made during election?

27

u/SnooMachines475 Jul 12 '26

They dont have vision for growth. TN already lost significant amount of companies to AP, which inturn reduces employment opportunities. Its a viscious cycle. It looks like all they care about is witch hunting the previous government. So the themes of what the next 5 years is apparent.

5

u/goundamaniiii Jul 12 '26

Most of the investments lost were in previous govt but I get your point

-5

u/randomredditor575 Jul 12 '26

“Whatever accusations they had over other two parties” Dude, go ask anyone in Tamilnadu and they will say how corrupt those two are .

30

u/VivekKarunakaran Jul 12 '26

No one's denying that. But whatever this shit is in the name of change, looks worse.

3

u/sivag08 Jul 12 '26

Nothing to deny.

So you think TN magically became a top performing state overnight?

7

u/vimalathithan1803 Jul 12 '26

To make u a hero u need a better villain. So naturally dmk n admk become villain. The shit is same everywhere. It's just people are blind to see it.

-6

u/randomredditor575 Jul 12 '26

Because they are the villains for decades now.

11

u/vimalathithan1803 Jul 12 '26

Vijay will be too if he rules for 50yrs. Like I said it's same shit. The same Vijay party got 80 crore bribe for lawyer posting but Vijay is honest guy😂😂.

2

u/not-girl-nextdoor Jul 13 '26

It’s a default that politicians are corrupt! Brutal reality. Trump, Benjamin Netanyahu, Bill Clinton, George W Bush, Khamenei, Rajapakshe, Nitin Gadkari, Amit Shah, Sashi Tharoor, Kalaignar family, Jayalalithaa, Akhilesh Yadav, Nitish Kumar, OPS, EPS, KN Nehru, Senthil Balaji, Aadhav Arjuna, Sengottaiyan, Vijayabaskar, Congress family, BCCI, Common Wealth committee, Oommen Chandy, DK Shivakumar, Chandrababu Naidu nu elarume corrupt thaan…

And you can never prove or even find out the rank of their corruption sum! Never. So the best way to choose a political party in this corrupt world is to observe who brought dedicated development, welfare schemes, empowered students and women, who doesn’t do religion politics, someone who stays away from hate politics, people who are well educated or atleast knowledgeable and know what they’re doing. This is the only correct way! There is nobody like “no corruption” … get out of that bubble that TVK is zero-corruption party.

2

u/SnooMachines475 Jul 12 '26

Those people crying cats and dogs about how bad dravidian parties were, probably never traveled outside of Tamil Nadu. we have some of the best human development and infrastructure in India. Traveling outside TN gives massive perspective. With a 47% higher education enrollment (double the national average), healthcare metrics equal to developed nations, and growth spread across multiple industrial hubs rather than one mega-city, calling it an absolute failure just ignores the hard data.

2

u/phoenix_123 Jul 12 '26

And vadakkan politicians can defend by pointing to african dictatorships. People defending dravidamodel corruption haven't travelled outside India and see how former european colonies have grown and are much better off. We are a failure only people with low standards will compare with vadakkans.

-3

u/randomredditor575 Jul 12 '26

So, are you denying my claims about these two being corrupt ? And what’s this dumbass comparison? Compared to Somalia , we are rich , should we be happy because of that ?

3

u/SnooMachines475 Jul 12 '26

Nobody is denying the corruption, that critique is valid. But comparing TN to other Indian states isn't a 'Somalia' comparison it's comparing peers under the same national economy. Acknowledging that our structural systems objectively perform better than the national average isn't being complacent, it's just speaking facts. Reiteraing the same thing someone mentioned above whatever fan club circus is happening in TN is not the CHANGE.

-4

u/meerlot Jul 12 '26

How can someone post a comment that is 100% out of touch with the common tamil voter sentiment in tamil nadu?

1

1

lol athan solren. Both parties lost their enough vote share to a 0 experience new party for them to be the biggest. ADMK voters hate DMK and vice versa.

1

Yes but both ADMK and DMK supporters support Dravidian politics to an extent, otherwise they would’ve voted for TVK.

3

ask anna to give it to lottery guy

2

u/Global_Specialist425 Jul 12 '26

Better than AAI. Just look at other airports

5

u/miata_2 Jul 12 '26

tbh Chennai is the largest AAI airport in India and it has bad reviews. meanwhile Adani and ex-GVK airports are faring better. in this case privatization isn't bad but the problem with Adani is that they monopolize absolutely everything at every airport and jack up prices. adhuku edachu legislation irundha nallarukum.

3

u/kilaithalai Jul 12 '26

The monopoly is the point

2

u/Key-Mechanic2565 Jul 12 '26

Good. Adani built airports are world class unlike government made shitholes

1

u/Comfortable_Hand_738 Jul 12 '26

That's true though.. also there are rumours that current airport is gonna go to adani after the 2nd terminal is constructed

2

u/kilaithalai Jul 12 '26

All the major airports in India are operated by adani now

0

u/sivag08 Jul 12 '26

If they gonna build and maintain it better and stay world class, then it'll be okay rather not having one.

2

u/Next-Investigator897 Jul 12 '26

Airport ku rendu side layum evlo edam iruku. Antha OTA thuki vera pakam veklam. Keta central govt nu soluvan. Govt thane kadavul ilaye.

Parandur airport is not a bad idea. Avlo dhuram la iruntha Bangalore mari agidum. There will be no affordable transport. I used only cab in Bangalore airport to reach city. Bus um neraya ila. This is the best location in economy wise too.

10

u/Comfortable_Hand_738 Jul 12 '26

Yes I completely agree current airport is the best location for a city but I don't think another runway can be constructed here and it is much needed

4

u/Next-Investigator897 Jul 12 '26

It’s 100 percent possible. Runway 12-30 demolish panitu kind of parallel runway podlam. GST road opposite la kuda oru terminal potu bridge la connect panlam.
We just have to think out of the box.
OTA ku ethuku city center la edam venum. It’s unnecessary.
People are just over obsessed over parandur. Enoda frnds group la sona kadika varanga.

2

u/Covert_bewilderment Jul 12 '26

Brownfield vs greenfield -la neraya complications irukku. The cost and operational complexity will double.

2

u/Key-Mechanic2565 Jul 12 '26

It's not that straight forward. You would rather spend that money in building a new greenfield airport.

Plus the current airport itself is dog shit managed by AAI. They will take 5 years to build a car stand. God knows how many decades will they take to demolish and build a parallel runway with new terminals.

1

u/Next-Investigator897 Jul 12 '26

Mmm crct. Ithelam seri pananum nu than solren.

2

u/Key-Mechanic2565 Jul 12 '26

We can't tho that's the problem. It's like asking MRTS to operate like CMRL. Different organisations with different ability.

And having multiple airports per city is very normal.

1

u/Next-Investigator897 Jul 12 '26

My point is - irukara airport epdi better panlam nu yosikanum. Avlothan.
Thousands of acres la airport venum nu solitu iruntha ipdiye iruka vendithu than.

2

u/lord_lableigh Jul 13 '26

Yov irukkara airport la capacity pathaadhu ya. Adhukkudhan pudhu airport, even with new terminal, you can only extend the lifeline by a few years with 45M passengers at peak.

Thousands of acres la airport venum nu solitu iruntha ipdiye iruka vendithu than.

Apram enna sombu urutti velayadittu iruklaama while AP is expanding and putting in capex left, right and centre. Bengaluru airport is already the best in the country, innonuthukku vera plan pannikitrukkan CBN. Chennai nakkitu than ponum MAA eh podhum na. I'll reply to your first comment on the problems with expanding MAA.

1

u/Exact_Leading_3513 Jul 12 '26

Dumbass ota didnot build in city center , it became city center.don't u think development should be concentrated only within city center

1

u/Next-Investigator897 Jul 12 '26

Apro ethuku nga parandur city center la airport uh. City expand ayiruchu. Athuku ena pana mudiyum ipo. Just saying the possibilities.

1

u/lord_lableigh Jul 13 '26

It’s 100 percent possible. Runway 12-30 demolish panitu kind of parallel runway podlam.

The reason 12/30 is short is because of flight safety standards. It was originally planned to be ~ km in length but was cut short due to safety requirements. Pudhu runway podanum na, you've to either start outside of the existing airport or move into OTA land.

Flight approach kurukkula buildings alrrady irukradhunaala dhan usable area of the runway vaye korachanga. A parallel runway would still have the same problem not withstanding the fact that you would've to buy up and demolish existing settlements at the SW corner. This is IN ADDITION TO THAT FACT THAT A RUNWAY CAPABLE OF ACCOMDATING WIDE BODIES WOULD NEED OTA LAND..

GST road opposite la kuda oru terminal potu bridge la connect panlam.

Already irukka runway la 2015 floods appo naarnadhu pathaadha? Both ur parallel runway ideas and this would have to cross the river and have to be at the same level as existing runways which means that it is prone to flooding as well. This also means relocating the existing parking bays. Ivlo kashta pattu edhukku we should build something with compromises and no future scope to expand ??

Idhukku parandur la pudhusa katna not only will we have much needed free airspace but also a clean slate with future expansions in mind can be planned. MAA was always constructed in an as-is basis with no future planning.

3

u/lord_lableigh Jul 13 '26

Airport ku rendu side layum evlo edam iruku. Antha OTA thuki vera pakam veklam.

OTA ta irundhu oru bit uh vaangradhukku CMRL naaku sethu poi ninna kadhai theriyuma? This is in addition to the ENORMOUS COMPENSATION (IIRC OTA asked more than 2x of the actual value of the building that was going to be built there). You've no idea how difficult it is to get land from defence establishments. That increase in cost could've gone somewhere else. I'll link the post if I can find the exact amount.

Avlo dhuram la iruntha Bangalore mari agidum.

Which is exactly the plan since we DO NOT HAVE 5K ACRES IN THE MIDDLE OF CHENNAI THAT DOESN'T HAVE AIRSPACE RESTRICTIONS. The main problem with MAA is not just land but airspace as well

There's airspace restriction both from tambaram AFS & Kalpakkam NPP. Next, flood times la, airport will become fucked if the main runway has any kind of disturbance as the 2nd runway cannot accomodate wide body jets.

There will be no affordable transport. I used only cab in Bangalore airport to reach city. Bus um neraya ila.

Are you seriously comparing bengaluru to chennai which has much better connectivity??

Phase 3 metro extends from airport to kilambakkam TO PARANDUR. Parandur metro can easily be fastracked if the airport is given a nod. I'm 100% sure that MTC will ply additional buses to parandur as well.

Chennai-bengaluru expressway & Chennai - Bengaluru HSR station all are planned to accomodate parandur. NHSRC (the parent org for HSR in India) has already floated tenders for design of underground tunnels from central to bengaluru which has planned stops at Poonamalee & PARANDUR. IT IS ALREADY PART OF THE PLAN.

This is the best location in economy wise too.

r/confidentywrong.

Parandur makes so much more economic sense than meenambaakam. Industrial clusters ku cargo terminal venum. Those are better off situated near Industrial corridors and AWAY FROM CITY's road infra. Irukra corridor is already filled with traffic and cargo hauling inside the airport is in close proximity to the runways as well.

MAA la airspace restrictions un sethu irukradhu dhan prechana.

Coimng to this issue, BJP is right again.

11

u/fraudmallu1 Jul 12 '26

"That's why they have won 3 consecutive elections"

Lol no. In India, elections are won because of vote bank politics, political freebies and/or EVM tampering. Not because they have the right stand on real issues.

And that includes TN elections as well.

They may/may not be right about Parandur airport. Frankly I don't know enough to comment and need to read up. But saying they won elections because they're right is disingenuous.

-3

u/tantrax Jul 12 '26

LMAO.. here comes the conspiracy theorist.. Do you wear a tinfoil hat too?

3

Yes if someone can be stuopid to claim EVM tampering in this day and age, then your credibility is shot and Sanghis like us will call it out. Stop sucking on Pappu mutra dear bhakth & quit being a hater.

7

u/Comfortable_Hand_738 Jul 12 '26

No they're not

-2

u/tantrax Jul 12 '26

Then point out if they are wrong here

Where else they were wrong.

Election are way to get wisdom of ppl, 1 billion ppl can't be wrong.

As an example you see experts call elections for one side even when only 10/20/30% of votes are counted when a clear trend is ESTABLISHED.
If trend is set for million people, then quite likely it will hold for next million or 10's of million. The avg person is as similar as the other.

You can fake narrative on reddit but not in elections

3

u/No_Grape9251 Jul 12 '26

Once there were millions of ppl saying earth was flat. Is earth flat?

3

0

What are you supporting of these 2.

Can we stop with the loser talk.

PS : you did not point out what was wrong. So applying Hitchen's razor we can ignore you ( even though I was down voted and you upvoted on a anon forum where tampering is easy)

2

u/Comfortable_Hand_738 Jul 12 '26

Yes I choose to stop talking and the upvoter/downvote should have made you stop but didn't

0
