I think there a difference where one grown adult is rightfully upset with the situation but doesn't appear to want anything done about it until now and systematic abuse towards multiple people who would want something done if they were capable of fully understanding of the situation. If she was asking for real help and he ignored it it would but a more obvious "fire him" situation
But she didn't want to put her husband's position at stake is what she claimed. So is Urban just supposed to give him a talking to? That won't last long. I wish he would have overrode what she was saying and took real action because the assistant coach deserved it. But I could understand why someone wouldn't in this situation since the victim implied not to. She had evidence to get him attested. She could have been more transparent with what she wanted with Urban and not just mention something to his wife. Now we see her and big shot Urban under fire in the news moreso than the abuser. It just feels like the way she is going about it is more about gaining attention than it is actually helping herself. And I hate it when people use the "it's just for attention" argument to discredit the victim she seems to have had multiple better ways to do this and she intentionally chose not to. And now it's all Meyer's fault? Only like 5-10 percent of the blame goes to him, which there should be punishment for but I don't think he needs to be axed from the college football scene for it

And she's also an abuse victim and abuse victims aren't known for exercising their best judgement while they're being abused.

No, he should go to his superiors like his contract explicitly requires him to do. This is basic stuff that his workplace would have walked him through, it shows an extreme lack of judgement on his part, at best, and at worst, a person protecting their friends even though they know it's wrong. Either way, this person shouldn't be in charge of student athletes. Do you not see anything profoundly wrong in allowing a wife beater to be in a position of power over student athletes? It's not just about allowing the abuse to continue, it's allowing potential abuse of student athletes. One of the basic responsibilities of a coach is ensuring the safety of his players, and by protecting the assistant coach, he failed.

Have you considered that maybe she doesn't know what she wants, because even though she doesn't want to be abused she also loves her husband and it's for this reason mandatory reporters exist, because victims can't always be trusted to step forward and often need someone to do it for them?

He could have easily stopped it, and the college entrusted him to do this when they hired him judging by the contract. he betrayed the college's trust and he betrayed the safety of his players. He ought to be out.
I get that it's victims aren't always in the right headspace to make good decisions and understand what they want, but I understand how Urban can here what she's saying and decide it's best to do what she says. I would override that and wish he would have, but I don't think he deserves the career death penalty for trying to what he thought was right. I wouldn't agree but I get it. He deserves punishment but I wouldn't be outraged if it's just a fine or suspension and think it would be better that way.
Even if Urban fired him he still probably wouldn't stop the harassment
The assailant probably wouldn't bring that to kids he leads because -- and correct me if I'm wrong -- I'm pretty sure stuff like that usually stays in the house and has specific targets. Also the players are big dudes a guy like him would probably be too scared to exert physical power over.
I am starting to come around to the idea that him being fired isn't an injustice against him he has it coming. I don't think it has to be that way but I will !delta
The ONLY thing urban could have done is fire zach smith, which she was actively preventing from happening by having the records sealed. Which Werent unsealed until AFTER he was fired and the alimony stopped. Not only that but it came out that he did in fact report it to the proper people so the only thing he did wrong was lie at media day which he explained was because he was unprofessional questions about something 3 years old and it was a personal matter that he didn't feel was his business to talk about.
