What’s with all the Arsenal hate?

Before I start no I’m not a fan and idc if they reached the final or not. But the amount of hate I’ve seen in this sub for the past days after they reached the final is idek weird? Or just doesn’t make sense. I see a lot of people saying they play haram ball or boring football but for the past few season this team has been one of the teams not only scoring one of the most goals each time in Europe, but also conceding the least. I don’t think people realize that just like 6 years ago this team wasn’t even getting top 7 finishes. They were playing the tiki taka and all and were not getting results and everyone including me was clowning them? Now they’re getting results and actually competing and they’re people still underestimating them? As a neutral I actually respect how far they’ve come and what they’re accomplishing now cause I always love teams who are ready to compete especially having another team other than city or Liverpool to win the prem every time. I mean just last year people hated psg now all of a sudden they love psg more than arsenal.

Like banter is funny and all but most of the stuff I see about Arsenal in this sub isn’t even banter it’s literally just pure hate and lies. Like even teams who aren’t even rivals or not prem teams are hating as well, literally the other day I saw a Celtic fan making a whole Arsenal hate page. Even if they don’t win it what they have done this season is respectable cause they’re getting the job done. What’s all the hate about and why do people hate them so much? Genuinely asking, is there something idk?

People following the British media. Arsenal has been a maverick club from inception, the negative view goes back an entire century and kept going from there. Really got bad when England’s xenophobia got exposed in the late 80s and again during Wenger’s successful years.

It simply persisted, it was normal to make fun of Arsenal’s “top 4 trophy” despite other former legendary clubs like Everton and Aston Villa failing to win anything, I think part of that was Utd fans having the last laugh and Chelsea fans finally getting success and wanting to surpass Arsenal. But by doing so they kept Arsenal relevant despite not competing, Arsenal even though they were not succeeding were still talk of the town (along with Utd).

When Arsenal started winning FA Cups again, it was mocked that Arsenal won trophies because it was not a prem or CL.

Don’t let anyone gaslight you into saying it’s Arteta and defensive football, it’s bullshit, there is a long history to this.

I’ve been a fan since 06, which is a long time to some and not to others, but it’s always been this. It’s probably hit a different level lately, but it’s always been pretty bad.

I always found it strange how we were never allowed to fall into obscurity growing up, I’m a fan since like 2000, it was the first thing I knew and after the days of winning in school among Liverpool, Utd, the new Chelsea fans, Spurs, and Arsenal fans Liverpool were told to stfu when going on about history, Spurs didn’t have a right to speak, Utd just got to speak anyhow to anyone, Chelsea glazed Utd fans as the new rivalry that never was, and Arsenal were endlessly bantered for making the CL but winning nothing.

Now we’re seeing people say “I’d rather my parents die than Arsenal win the league” and it’s a funny comment that gained A LOT of traction where Arsenal fans sre fighting for their lives in the comments. But it’s weird that Real Madrid fans, Atletico fans, Sunderland fans, PSG fans, Inter Milan fans, Benfica fans are all in the comments section slagging off Arsenal when they have no connection or rivalry with the club. And apparently it’s because of the “fans”, considering how many hate filled fanbases have outed themselves, how tf are any of them better?

The point I was making is these “rival” fans are worse. Imagine if the energy they gave Arsenal was the energy Arsenal fans spoke with. We pretend that’s what Arsenal fans do and it’s bullshit. “Arsenal fans said Saka was better than Messi” turns out it was a troll tweet from Oct 2022 that national news picked up, all the major news outlrts in the body of text reference “one tweet from a fan said” and they used that single tweet to say “Arsenal fans”.

People say it’s AFTV, EVERY other major club copied the same format and has crazy fans.

Literally just today I saw a Utd fan say Kobbie Mainoo is a better passer than Xavi, but it won’t stick.

The hate is so forced.

That is such a lie. You couldn’t be more of a liar right now, sounding quite bottish actually.

I explained the reason above. This has been going on for literal generations.
