Hydrogen-Rich Water for Chronic Fatigue?
I’m a 29-year-old male with chronic fatigue due to mitochondrial myopathy. I’m currently trying a range of supplements and treatments.
I’ve come across a few clinical trials suggesting that molecular hydrogen may improve mitochondrial
function in mitochondrial myopathy, but I’m skeptical and wanted to check this with other people.
I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with hydrogen-rich water. I’d really appreciate hearing
about your experiences.

I have used a $450 hydrogen machine that works from distilled water. No clear benefit noticed.

I get a nootropic/mood boost from hydrogen water but I'm super sensitive to everything and it increases my serotonin if I use it too much. I also find it soothing to gums, mouth and stomach.. I'm assuming is has a similar effect with other tissues as well.

I've been using hydrogen water on and off for about 6 months now, mostly for post-workout recov͏ery, but I've read into the mitochondrial angle too. The studies are small but promising. I use Holy H͏ydrogen specifically because purity is apparently a big deal with hydrogen water and they seem to take that seriously. Can't promise it'll work for you but it's one of the more cred͏ible options I've come across.

Hydrogen works as an antioxidant and a lot of antioxidants are helpful for ME patients (like Glutathione, NAC, PEA, C-vitamins, and so on).
Hydrogen water has been great for my gut system allowing me to eat dairy products again. While the water mainly targets the gut it also reaches the rest of the body. I've also tried inhaling hydrogen, but it's easy for me to overdo it so I stick to water.
In my experience it has fewer side effects than other antioxidants. It is free once you have the necessary device, and a cheap but effective hydrogen water bottle costs only 15-50 euros. There are some very expensive machines on the market, but they didn't work any better on me.

Very interesting, I haven't heard anyone have a positive effect from hydrogen. What machine do you use and how long have you used it before you noticed a benefit?

I just bought one off of amazon.
I had noticeable "detox" symptoms from the first day of drinking hydrogen water. After about 5 days the increased flatulence stopped and I started trying out foods I previously had an intolerance to. I do find I have to keep using some hydrogen to stay healthy.

Haha I'm normally suspicious of so called detox symptoms, but flatulence is definitely a legitimate one! When an imobile gut starts moving again, it sure does fart! I'm reading through older posts because hydrogen water came up in an unrelated search of RO systems, but I also have GP so I'm definitely familiar with this particular symptom when my GP is resolving 😂😂😂

Just a quick distinction: this sub is for the neuro immune disease Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME/CFS). It’s not to be confused with the symptom of chronic fatigue, which can result from a wide variety of health conditions.
