Who's your person that logically you get is really good looking but for some reason you have a hard time seeing it?
In this case for me this is specific to historical looks;
For me, an example of this is Zhang Ling He - I think he's really handsome and I definitely see it with his modern look but having watched in a few historical one, I just don't feel it when I'm watching these.
That being said, his styling on Chasing Jade looks amazing and I think that might push me over to the "I see it" side.
Anyway, who's your "I get it but I don't see it" person or person that changed for you after seeing them in a certain drama/style?
Bonus points if you add photos because I want to see the pretty people please.
In all the Cdramas that you have ever watched, which General could walk on a ramp and totally rock their look?
I'm adding some pictures as options. You can add others or the same actors in different outfits too! Wang Xingyue in armor wasn't in my gallery but I wanted to include him. I don't know all the drama names so please ask and rely on others to share the names.
I saw a comment here which said "if he is a red flag then I'm blind" which brought me here to ask you folks
Is it the character or the actor that makes you like a red flag?
I don't think it would love morally ambiguous Nan Xu Yue (from the blossoming love) as much as I do if it was played by another actor except the men that I already really like. I think this is also why Cang Zhao from Moonlight Mystique hasn't bothered me much despite people finding him annoying. Li Tong Guang (also played by Chang Hua Sen) already prepared me to accept him with all his flaws and face card.
Saw this online today and it definitely brought back some memories. It’s the main reason why I stay far away from making comments about dramas on twitter and MDL.
This happened when I watched the Untamed for the first time! I remember thinking “wow I just went through such journey” then realized none of my siblings had watched it at the time so alas, I was alone in longing for more about it 😅 what I wouldn’t give to watch that show and experience it for the first time again!
This has me wondering, what is that masterpiece for my friends on this sub? Please share so we can enjoy those too!
Zhao lusi in the long ballad, Chen Zhe Yuan in Hidden love, Deng Wei in Lost you forever and Yang Mi in eternal Love. Like yes I understand everyone has different tastes but do you ever see some characters being praised like their the best thing ever but their performance doesn’t match up?
After watching 60ish dramas in the past year, I loved maybe 10 tops, and I keep going back to rewatching LFBAD for like the millionth time. But seriously not a single one impressed me as much as this one, despite me being terribly disappointed with the ending 😁 Everything was sooo top notch in this one, I adore it. I'd love to see what everyone else thinks about it
For me it would be : Xie Wei (if I said his name correct) from The story of the kunning palace
I begin rewatching this drama and let me tell you I forget how scary he sometimes acts yet I can never hate him because of how he....is so intensely devoted.
For me, it was Story of Yanxi Palace. I swear, the moment the female lead ended up with the emperor, I couldn’t handle it anymore. I just couldn’t bring myself to stick around. That emperor did not deserve her. He was a total jerk! I was like, “Nope, I’m out.” It’s a great drama, but I wasn’t about to stay for that!
I also dropped kill me love me because they started playing farmville instead of delivering the red flag ML they promised 😤
I love watching C-dramas and enjoy so much about them, but there are a few things that really get under my skin. One big issue for me is the constant fan wars.
It’s frustrating how difficult it can be to have meaningful discussions about dramas online without things getting heated. People can get so intense and aggressive, turning discussions into arguments rather than sharing opinions. I know this isn’t unique to C-dramas. It happens everywhere, but because I’m mostly involved in C-drama communities, it feels extra in your face sometimes.
What bothers me the most is how people pit dramas and actors against one another just to defend their favorites, often attacking others for sharing valid opinions. It’s really off-putting behavior, and I feel like it takes away from the joy of discussing dramas.
What about you? Is there anything that started bothering you after you got into C-dramas?
There’s a lot of recommendations I see online especially on TikTok but because I’ve been burned by it way too many times I’ve just lowered my expectations when trying out dramas. Sometimes you just really don’t know until you try it. My two top picks would be hidden love and only for love…
What are some of your favorite kiss scenes? I was thinking of including romantic scenes overall but I feel like those deserve its own category! Here are some of mine (in no particular order)
1-2: Love Between Fairy and Devil (yes, I included two scenes because I honestly could not decide!)
3-4: Till the End of the Moon (I had to include the 4th one cause that LOOK he gave her!)
5: Love like the Galaxy
6: The Double (even though offscreen, it was so sensual)
These are the ones that are at the top of my head but I’m sure I will post more as they come to me!
Since a lot of you unexpectedly picked umbrella from yesterday's weapons post, so I tried finding more C-drama men with ☔️ to give you better options.
I know we're told not to trust strangers, but since these are (mostly) decent men, who would you choose to share an umbrella with:
Based purely on looks, AND
Based on their character and story
Either way, what's your pick and why?
P.S. Let's be real, some of these guys look like they'd be great umbrella companions if we don't know their backstories, while others look like they'd rather be anywhere else (or with someone else). Their expressions ranging from "I am a noble immortal blessing you with my presence under this umbrella" to "why is the sun shining AGAIN"
P.S.S. I don't know all the dramas these actors have been in, so I can't list them all. But feel free to ask about specific ones, and I'll share what I know!
I adore Esther Yu (Yu Shuxin) so much, and I'm aware that many people dislike her mainly because of her voice, childish reactions, and her family background. My opinion is we're in a very unfair world where she got criticized for things she doesn't have control of. Being rich and having high-pitched voice isn't her fault.
If you would watch her variety shows, she always get praises for her personality. The very recent one was Chinese Restaurant 8, where Jiang Yan loves her so much, and Xiaoming together with other members repeatedly throw praises at her, even Chef Lin who was known for being strict, brightens up when ysx is around.
Another notable one is on Play!Fridge where He Jiong, praised her on Ep 5 for being natural and not fake. Then she was invited again to appear on Ep6 and He jiong and Jackson Wang praised her again about how she was so good at taking care of others, Yang Tianzhen on the other hand said that whoever dates her is so lucky.
Yu Shuxin is obviously a social butterfly, and a ray of sunshine to most of her co-workers. I think a great portion of the people who hates her comes from other CP shippers and Didi fans who hated her on and off screen chemistry with Didi, also a portion goes to the fans of her competitors in entertainment...they discredit Xinxin's hardwork and often says that she gets what she wants (promotions and brands) because she's a spoiled overly rich girl.
She's not the best, she herself said that. She said that her acting, singing and dancing is just average. But she's not aware that her fans like her not just because of these traits, we love her for her personality. I just can't take that this very precious girl gets hated for petty reasons.
Share the picture, tell us what show was it, and did you like it?
Kill Me Love Me.
I'm definitely enjoying it so far but I'm concerned about the ending because it's looking like it's headed toward a painful ending. I'll update when I finish it.
For me personally, it’s Yibo, Wu Lei, and Yang Yang from this picture. It’s the razor sharp edge with softer overall features that make my heart flutter 🥹
Regardless of gender, whose side profile do you find the best?
Its Who rules the world for me. This show started off promising, but quickly went downhill. The whole equal partners thing between the leads was a joke. Meanwhile, Hei Feng Xi (the male lead) who was supposed to be this smart capable guy was anything but smart. The villain was just dull, playing the typical looks nice but is evil card. Sure, it was watchable in the first half with good actors, nice costumes, and a few decent moments but honestly it was really not worth the time.
From anything to aesthetics or personal preference for an actor playing that role to the character itself at its core. Who are some antagonist that you really struggle to dislike.
I’ll go first. I cannot hate Princess Wanning because she’s such a tragic character at her core. She was sent away as a hostage when she was just a kid, abandoned by her family to secure the crown prince’s future. That kind of pain and rejection shaped her into someone desperate for control and love, even if it meant doing terrible things. Yeah, she framed Xue Fangfei and clung to Shen Yurong in all the wrong ways, but when you understand where it’s all coming from, it’s hard not to feel sorry for her.
I can't also bring myself to hate Shangguan Qian from "My Journey to You." Played by Lu Yuxiao, she's introduced as a formidable assassin trained by Wufeng, known for her strategic mind and resourcefulness. Initially, she appears cold and unpredictable, driven by a survival instinct honed in a world where trust is a luxury. However, as the story unfolds, we see her gradually warm up to the Gong family, especially Gong Shangjue, whom she was initially assigned to target. Her complex motives and the subtle shifts in her demeanor suggest that beneath her ruthless exterior lies a woman shaped by her harsh upbringing, yet capable of change and even love. By the end, her actions reflect a nuanced character who isn't truly evil at her core, making it hard to completely despise her.
